Way different than I expected. I was going to this expecting something like Signs, but saw something that was a mix between Cloverfield and Men In Black. There was quite a bit of indirect dry humor in this, the main guy kind of reminds me of Steve Carell on The Office humor wise.
Overall I was still happy, very strange but different than the usual alien movie. I would recommend it.

I agree.
It was really weird, yet original. The movie definitely held my attention. I would also recommend seeing it.

I hope there are a lot of blood and guts or better yet downright terrifying or scary.

Nothing terrifying or scary, but there are some scenes with "blood and guts" that should satisfy you though.

Saw Disctrict 9 yesterday. I thought the first 5 minutes gave off the appearance that the movie was an absolute joke... I was honestly ready to just walk out.
Stick with it and give it a shot... it was actually a pretty decent movie. Nothing like I thought it would be... I think there will most likely be a District 10 coming... and I would see it

Yeah I thought it was a good flick.
Like everyone said it is very strange in the begining and you kinda have to get over that in the first 15 minutes or so.
It actually was a good story that "in theory" was believable.
You started to really care about the relationship between the main human character and the main alien character.
And yes, if this film does well. We will see a District 10.
WAAAAAAY to many things left unanswered in this film.
So many in fact I will be disappointed if there is no sequal.
Decent film worth watching.

It was alright, but since it was Peter Jackson who directed it i didnt really know what to expect.
Lord of the rings type of movie with grand scale stuff or more like some of his splatter movies.
It was the ladder. I think the biggest problem with the movie was that the storyline was average at best.
I enjoyed some of the splatter and surrealistic stuff but dont expect an interesting story that will keep you in the seat.

Didn't want to go, but was dragged to the theater to watch it with a group of friends...my expectations were "this movie is gonna suck, i hate these types of movies". I'm pretty picky when it comes to watching movies...and paying $10 to be forced to sit and watch one is even worse. But I went anyway. I was pleasantly surprised, and it wasn't that bad.
It did sorta seem like they were trying to "preach" to the audience on a level that involved the way we may treat others in our society. So I didn't really care to get "preached" to...I just wanted to watch an entertaining movie, and not a documentary using aliens.
