Different movies with similar screenplay

I was watching The Last Samurai last week and realized how similar some of the sweeping shots of the scenery were to Legend of the Fall. I think the music score may have been the by the same person as well (I realize I could google but that takes all the fun away).

It got me thinking as to others as well with simialr cinematography, music, screeplay, etc. Obviously Benjamin Buttons and Forrest Gump. Two others are Good Will Hunting and Finding Forrester.

Do you guys have others?

check out the Sci-Fi-Horror movie Mimic (1997). VERY similar plot to the first two Alien-Aliens movies and same type "atmospherics" in the cinematography

"A Christmas Carol" probably has among the most variations of basic story.  For Easter, Jesus death/sacrifice is reflected in films such as Green Mile, ET Extraterrestrial and One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.

The comedy Due Date with Robert Downey, and Zach Galifianakis is a carbon copy ot the classic John Hughes film Planes, Trains, and Automobiles with Steve Martin, and the late John Candy.

What? Very similar plots? Atmoshere yes. Both dark and dank.

watch the movie and you will see what I mean, TRAIN69. the "Judas Bugs" VERY similar to the "Xenomorphs" in the Alien movies with the action and suspense in the Manhattan subways and underground instead of on a space freighter or terraform station

the Lee Marvin classic Point Blank (1967) and the Mel Gibson very similar remake Payback (1999)
