Beowulf...

Worth a $10 spot or wait for Blockbuster??

i read that stupid f'n book in high school and i have no desire to see it.

ive seen good revviews though

 

the one part annoyed me though in the commercial they always show him yelling "i am beowolf!"   like hes the guy from 300 yelling "this is sparta!"

 

300 was good by the way

Yeah reading that was torture in school, and in no way makes me want to see the movie!

Grendel is a beast

I took British Literature as an elective while doing my Finance major for my business degree. Thought what the hell.

 

The entire quarter was Beowulf. Every fricking day. I wanted to slit my wrists it was so excruciating going over every speck of that story.

 

I started going to about two classes a week, did fine on the mid terms, and the day of the Final, despite coasting with my B average, the box Brit professor tried to say I wasn't allowed to take the final because of attendance. I told him to basically shove it as the ombudsman would have sided with me, so he told me he was going to give me a D- regardless.

 

I'll wait for the DVD release just based on that experience.

 

Looks like it might be a pretty good flick though.

No pause button at the theatres screws me going to see most movies anyway.

 

I'd have to see a matinee anyways, since by nightime, I've had too many assorted bevys coffee, beers, etc. and I hate missing anything because I have to take a leak.

I saw it in 3D on an IMAX screen, not the greatest storyline but if you've never seen a 3D movie before its worth the money. Not a movie Id watch on DVD, Angelina is in 3D also

BigBaller is right on about the 3D thing being worth the experience. From what I'm told, not all theatres do the 3D versions. If you can't see it in 3D, just wait for it to come out on DVD.

 

Reminded me some of "300". As long as you don't try to turn it  (Beowulf) into more than it was intended to be, you'll enjoy it I think.

 

Once again, I hated that stinkin' book in college like others have said. Movie scarcely reminded me of it.

 

 

 

Basically what Bigballer said, if this movie wasn't 3-D then it would've made about $2. That is the only thing going for this movie, the storyline was the worst i've seen in my lifetime.

 

I also couldn't handle the 3-D and ended up going to the bathroom and puking so, overall the experience and the movie was the worst for me in 2007.

I can't imagine what that flick would have been like back in the bowl tokin' days.
