Great 4 parts documentary on the history of America from Columbus to WWII. Each part is 2 hours long on the History Channel. I believe they are showing part 4 this week and repeats of all 4 parts during Memorial Day weekend.

Let me correct myself. It is a 5 parts documentary. Part 5 finale will be shown on Memorial Day. Part 5 chronicles major events that occurred after WWII.

agree it's an excellent general overview of American history.
will be interesting to see how much discussion of the Vietnam War they have in Part 5 which I think, along with the Civil Rights movement, was the defining "change" events for my generation.
I suspect they will "go big" on the assassination of JFK because there has always been a lot of speculation that one event lead to the escalation in Vietnam that eventually made it a full blown war.
