That 1st episode this season was terrible............Love the show but its getting worse every season.......That premiere was just awful TV
agree 100%. OK obviously Ray's wife Abby died, HOW ??? WHEN ??? HOW many episodes well we have to sit thru before we FIND OUT what HAPPENED ??? writers getting just too "arty-smarty"

The show needed a shake-up. The first episode has opened with numerous story lines.
I also thought it was a really good way to start the new season.
Agree. Especially that final scene when Ray walked into his house and heard the hysterical crying, intense. I experienced that moment twice. Suppose I completely identify with his chin up poker face fix it character on all levels. Powerful stuff.

No need for a spoiler alert here. I just want to add that episode two was pretty good too.
somewhat better but STILL pretty confusing and STILL don't know HOW Abby died. still in "flashback" mode. I think that young tart actress that just shot her abusive husband is gonna be a problem for Ray

Obviously some sort of brain trauma. I'm guessing brain tumor or trauma detected after scan. I guess we all know that though.
1st thing for Ray is don't touch the gun, second, make the crazy chic wash her arms with mechanic grit soap to clean powder residue.

Agree. It is nothing more than a show that ran out of ideas. The new characters were boring. Making Ray devastated by Abby offing herself was completely unbelievable.For 5 years he has nothing but contempt for her but now he's wailing like a baby when she's dead ? Makes no sense. Also, no idea about how to use John Voight, the only real actor on the show. Couldn't care less whether it is renewed; I won't be wasting my time.
