Dickey still doing fine IMO.. as well as we have a 6 point lead and many other options. why use price....
I like gibbons choices often but wtf..

Unfortunately there may not be any playoffs after Wednesday. Sending a kid out to the mound. An emotional kid at that. Go with your Veteran Price. We traded the farm to get him, where is the faith? On that note,why not leave Dickey in for one more out? Let the wiley veteran at least get a miniumum five innings for the W. He deserves that at least. It's a 7-1 game.

i just cannot fathom why he would put Price in when Dickey is cruising along and the Jays are playing homerun derby.

In my opinion, it's f'n ridiculous that Gibbons pulled him this early. He should have at least been allowed to finish the fifth. It's a panic move from a manager that's never been there before. Dickey earned that W. Who can blame for being pissed. I agree, very disrespectful to a Cy Young veteran who has given you stellar pitching this year.

Choo and Beltre were 4 for 4 against Dickey. The last thing you want
to do is let the Rangers come within a few runs. Then things start to
get dicey. Just ask the Astros how these things can happen.
Stroman is an extremely capable starter for game 5 and you still have Price out of the pen if he falters a bit.
And who cares about Dickey being awarded the win or not? He just wants the TEAM to win the game. He couldn't care less, I'm sure.

thats exactly it. stromans stuff is flithy and he got his cherry popped in his first postseason start the other day. he ll be electric in game 5. as for not getting dickey the win..whatever...they have much bigger fish to fry but i hear you guys.

I have no problem putting Price in here, as Dickey drops off later in his starts and he needs his confidence to return in post season. Better to start Stroman and have others available for an inning or two if they get a lead and Marcus stumbles.
Can someone confirm if Dickey can be awarded the win? I have read the rules and as gambleholic63 suggested it appears it is at the scorers discretion. It would be outright wrong to not award Dickey the win if the score remains this way or Rangers don't get within 3 runs.
This is a must win, so Price coming in is worth millions in revenue to the Jays and a great chance at home.
P.S If Im the Jays I tell MLB to fly a kite, the Rogers Centre lid will be open for game 5.

Another solid point. I can't remember the stats but I recall hearing Dickey was MUCH worse once he got to a third time through the lineup.

It is at the official scorers discretion. However, I believe that exception is reserved for situations in which a game is delayed by a long rain stoppage in the 5th inning. I still think it would be within reason to make the exception for this game.
