Why the huge line move on the Giants / Braves game?

I havent really been following baseball.....

Is there an obvious reason why there is such a line move on this game?  A late injury or something?

what was the line earlier today?

Opened at -147, and late afternoon was -137 at pinny.

It seems strange to me that a playoff line would move that much this late.....  It is certainly possible but just didnt know if I was missing something obvious or not....

i was thinking the same thing and the only thing i could think of was that they opened the line too high and maybe people hit it at that time and trying to scalp ? i think you would know more about scalping than i would. im still confused.

i even saw it at -160 this morning

Yeah, it opened some places as high as -165.

-160 TO -135 HERE

the only other thing i can think of was nobody was giving atlanta a chance to win at +140 and the books wanted to make atlanta look like they have a chance not being such a big underdog to get some bets on shitlanta.

i hopped on it at 135 but saw 160 in the am... im still following my boy MM and takin the giants... hopein the phils can turn this around and win

I take it by the lack of reasons posted that there is nothing obvious.

Just as an observation - I find this line move close to incredible given the circumstances (playoff game).  My eyes are open.

Tep - its hard to believe that a 40 cent line mistake would be made on a playoff game - especially because it was -137 almost all afternoon.

Im not saying impossible, and especially based on lack of any other explanation you are probably right - im just very surprised.

Very strange indeed, Van -- when I checked earlier this AM is was around -145 or so at 5Dimes, now it is at -120

I don't think Matt Cain has the gusto to get it done. And I'm a die-hard Giants fan. Just like little Roy looked like a cupcake to the Reds after facing Holliday, Cain will look like a cupcake after facing Lincecum.

Over correction most likely. I thought 135/125 was right line. I show three steams at -145/-135/-125 with 135 being the most significant.
