Sandy at home is a different animal as I've stated before, so I've got no problem backing him here. But his offense gives me a little worry. They aren't scoring when he pitches at home, but hoping thats just a coincidence. Manaea has been dreadful lately though, so runs may not be hard to come by for the fish.
Boston Red Sox -1.5 +146
Reid Detmers has a sub 1 ERA over his last 5 starts, and the Angels are 1-4 in those games. He's probably wishing he had Alcantaras run support. But, the Sox get to lefties. And they got to Detmers back on July 3rd, to the tune of 5 ER in 5 IP. Sandoval hasn't been great, but the Sox bullpen has been tremendous, so if he can get through 5, the pen should shut the Halos weak offense down, and the Sox should get to the Halos pen if they can't get to Detmers.
Tampa Bay Rays -102
Peralta has been great his last two outtings, surrendering just one ER over 12 IP and walking zero while striking out 11. This is who the Rays thought they were getting and he's perhaps peaking at the perfect time. The Braves went through the buzzsaw that is the Phillies rotation, and they didn't have a ton of success. It gets no easier tonight. Smith-Shawver hasn't done much to keep his team in games recently, and the Braves are 1-4 in his last 5 starts.
Chicago White Sox -1.5 +146
The so the Pirates offense is struggling feels like an understatement. They totaled 3 runs in their 3 game series with the Angels. And they won two of them!! The pale hose will get to Chandler, and I don't know where the Buccos get the runs from. The last four in their line up is almost a guaranteed out right now. Burke had a couple hiccups near the end of August, but started September off with a strong one hit, 5.2 IP vs Houston.
Cardinals/Giants Over 7.5 -118
Two good starters, but two really bad bullpens. 7 of the Cards last 10 have gone over the posted number. No reason to quit now.
