Sanchez vs Cavalli

Cavalli’s recent form has not been great, and that matters for the first five. Over his last few starts, he’s allowed traffic, hard contact, and hasn’t been working clean. Washington is also missing key lineup pressure today

Washington has had success against left-handed pitching this season, but I’m not putting too much weight into a season-long split with this specific lineup tonight. This version of the Nats order is a little different and they’re missing some of tha pressure

Sanchez, a true ground baller. If he's not striking them out, batted balls in play are killing worms. 

Phillies bats are hot, like you said, Cavalli recently has been struggling.

We need Philly to make Cavalli work early  long atbats, traffic, pressure, and a big hit when he has to come back into the zone. On the other side, Sanchez just needs to stay clean, keep the pitch count managed, and control the game through five. That’s the scrip hahah

The good is really good. He’s elite at getting chase, he doesn’t walk guys, he misses bats, and he keeps the ball on the ground. That’s exactly what you want in a first-five spot. He’s not the type that usually beats himself with free passes, and if he gets traffic, he has the swing-and-miss and ground-ball stuff to get out of it.

The only little red flag is when guys do square him up, the contact can be loud
