i dont see how you can give it to delgado over howard.  he had a great run, but still low ba and less hrs and rbis than howard

if howard had liek 5 more hits hed have a higher ba, rbis and hrs total

i think pujols derserves it if the cards make the playoffs, but they wont

if howard gets to 50, he could steal it

Delgado, no way, he has been on a nice tear, but his numbers dont even compare to the other two guys

Its Pujols or Howard...I am a die hard Phills fan, but I think it should go to Pujols, but Howard's power numbers are sick and tough to overlook though

It's gotta be either Delgado or Howard...Why Pujols??? Cards are NOT going to the playoffs...Delgado and Howard have done a lot more for their teams than Pujols.

Howard won the MVP when the Phillies didnt make the playoffs and Pujols's Cardinals did...kind of see it happening that way this year, Pujols does way more for his team than those 2 do for their respective teams, Mets have Beltran, Wright, Reyes, and great SP...The Phills have Utley, Rollins, Burrell, and some other good players...StL has shi*, and Pujols has carried them all year and had them in the WC race til the end....

    Pujols ... .360 avg..... 33 hr....101 rbi.....465 OBP....650 slg
    Howard.....244 avg.... 44 hr....133 rbi.....332 obp....526 slg
    Delgado.....267 avg...35 hr....104 rbi,....350 obp...516 slg

I agree with most of what you guys said. Im a huge Mets fan and while Delgado has carried us, his numbers aren't close to the numbers of Howard and Pujols. To me it's gotta come down to one of them.

Manny isn't even on the list? Pujols is out because STL won't make the playoffs. You have to be on a playoff team to get any consideration for MVP from me. Howard doesn't have a good enough average, and Delgado??? If Delgado wins he could go down as one of the worst MVP's in the history of MLB. Manny is my pick. I don't care if he's only been in the league half the season. Without him the Dodgers are not in the playoffs. If he was in the NL all season he would be a slam dunk winner. Manny gets it because nobody else is worthy. If I had to choose between the three above I guess it would be Howard if Philly gets in the playoffs otherwise Delgado.

Manny hasn't been in the NL remotely close to 1/2 season.

Who do you guys like in the AL?

If Houston makes the playoffs in the NL give it to Lance Berkman, if not I say David Wright edges out Howard

The odds are down at the moment, but there isn't any value:

    Dustin 2
    KROD 2.5
    Hamilton 3
Morneau 5 (only value I see)

There is 0 chance David Wright wins it. Coming from a die hard mets fan, the only way a met wins it would be through Delgado. The fact were having this discussion shows that no met will win it because they will cancel eachother out. Manny WILL NOT win the award being on the team for 2 months, doesn't matter how good he's been. Pujols CAN win it even if the cards dont make the playoffs. His numbers are great across the board. The debate is between Pujols and Howard. No one else will win it.

hitting .350 with power and keeping his team alive with all the injuries they've had. No way a guy hitting .260 should beat him out and they won't. A-Rod won it on a last place team and many others have won it without making playoffs. I don't think it will be that close.

I like Pedroia in the AL. I know Hamilton has had an amazing year but his team really has never been in it. Pujols atleast has had his team in the race all year long. I think Krod is the only one in the AL who could get it over Pedroia.

i think pujols derserves it if the cards make the playoffs, but they wont

if howard gets to 50, he could steal it

Down the stretch numbers has a lot to do with it.....Delgado is batting 295 post all star with more hrs and rbi than Howard while Howard is batting 265....Pujols is the best hitter in the game but the MVP is not based on the best player...It is most valuable to a winning team...It is between Howard and Delgado and right now Delgado has it because of his 2nd half run...If the Mets dont make the playoffs then Delgado will not win it, it will go to Howard....

Papi I agree that Delgado has been CLEARLY better post all star break but Howard's numbers across the board are far an away the best of the 2. The argument for Pujols is an interesting one because they will obviously not make the playoffs BUT he has done more with less then any player out there. The meer fact that the Cardinals were in the race at all shows how much he carried them. Plus the fact I heard guys on espn such as buster olney pick pujols, that helps too.

No matter what Mr. Olney says I dont think that Pujols is gonna win it....Pujols is the best hitter in the game and to think that he is not even healthy is ......I think it is down to Delgado and Howard and whichever one carries his team to the playoffs will win the MVP IMO.....Howard took the lead again tonight though

I know you can't look alot into what one guy on espn said. But I heard other baseball writers on espn like Pujols as well. They are the ones who actually vote on it...
