I missed that on Beckett being out. Beckett one whole ERA point better than Lee, and faces better hitting in the AL. 1+ more runs offensively for the Sox as compared to the Phillies.

Philly has a better record and home record because of the rest of their starting rotation. Starting pitchers ERA 4.02 for Boston, vs 3.02 for Philly. Granted the margin is actually less as Boston is in the AL.

Boston at plus money seems like a gift to me here.

In any case its an interesting line to make given the strength of the two teams and the complicating fact they play in different leagues....

think ur overanalyzing this..phils have the better record..are 30-13 at home..cliff lee at home is only -120? no strength in that line at all IMO..bosox also almost got swept by the pirates..its not like beckett hasnt been a dog this year..

About the Bosox/Philly game tomorrow...

My opinion is this game is too close to call. Line opened -120/+110 in favor of Philly. If you do the standard 30 cent move to the other team's ballpark, if this game were being played in Fenway the line would be -120/+110 in favor of Boston... meaning on a neutral field you'd probably get a -105/-105 line.

And I think that's fair. I would say the Red Sox with Beckett on the mound = Phillies with Lee on the mound. Two really good teams, two really good starters, just too close to call in my opinion and I will probably just sit back and enjoy this one.
