Looking like a horrible day but we got some bad luck. The Cubs blew a 5-2 lead in the 9th and lost the game 7-5. The Astros had a 3-0 lead into the 7th and 3-2 into the 9th and lost 5-3. The Royals led for much of the game before losing 5-3. I know lead changes are a common theme in baseball, but it was just a tough day with that. Hopefully the Phillies/Dodgers UNDER hits to stop the bleeding.

*Record will be posted following the Phillies/Dodgers game.

    Padres/Nationals UNDER 7.5 (5 units)
My play of the season tomorrow. It's time to risk more of my units on totals because I've clearly been better in this regard. The Padres bats have been absolutely atrocious all season long. Take a look at their last chunk of games:

    L 5-2
    W 2-1
    L 4-3
    L 4-3
    W 3-1
    W 2-1
    L 3-1
    W 4-2
    L 3-2

UNDER 7.5 would have been 9-0 in the last Padre games.

The Nationals bats haven't been too great lately, either. Prior to tonight's 9th inning splurge, the Nats have scored 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, and 0 runs. Not pretty for them. San Diego sends Erik Stults to the mound, a guy who has struggled on the road. But the Nationals hitters are batting .079 against him. He pitched a gem in 2013 against this Washington team. Padres hitters are batting .204 against Zimmermann. Zimmermann has looked sharp in his last couple starts and I look for that to continue tomorrow. 5 units is my max play and this is our first of the season.

    Indians -125 (3 units)
For the time being, 3 units will be my max play on sides because of how I've struggled with them. Cleveland got a big win last night. Tomorrow they have a major pitching advantage. Corey Kluber pitched very well against KC last season at Progressive Field..

    W 10-3 7 IP 7 H 2 ER 0 BB 6 K
    W 3-0 7.2 IP 3 H 0 ER 3 BB 8 K

The Royals send Bruce Chen to the mound, a guy who was their long reliever a year ago. He's not capable of providing quality innings anymore and in a day game I look for him to struggle. Indians' hitters are batting .305 against Chen. Look for them to smack him around tomorrow.

Dude you suck. Take a break. I think you're completely out of rhythm on these picks. Sounds weird but baseball is such a rhythm sport. Don't pay so much attention to how a pitcher or team did on their last time out. Follow waves of good teams and stay away from teams that haven't established any type of rhythm. I've made lots of money betting on baseball by getting into the right rhythm of good teams and bad teams but your picks are all over the place.

I'll bet $5K you don't do better than 1 for 2 on these picks.

I gave you a winner on the Cubs on Tuesday which was so easy and it's time to hit the Cubs again tomorrow. Tough loss for them today but the DBacks are such a bad team and I think you have to take Cubies to win the series tomorrow. Kirk Gibson will be fired soon. Ride the bad streak the DBacks are on especially after they just won a game. Winning two in a row is a big challenge for this team.

You provide absolutely no logic to your arguments that counter the points I've made within my write-ups. You talk about rhythm with teams, yet that's exactly what I spoke about in my big UNDER play. Both offenses are ice cold facing pitcher's they have struggled against. As for the Indians, Kluber is due for a big start and he has fared well against Kansas City in the past.

Where were you when I was up 30+ units? Cold streaks happen. When you disagree and hack on my picks, at least put forth some logical arguments. Otherwise, you make absolutely no sense...

but what rhythmic pattern would have supported taking the other sides such as Seattle, Boston, Cleveland, or the over in colorado?

he had 2 bullpen implosions with the cubs and astros.  hard to handicap a 3 run walkoff homer and a 5 run ninth inning.

Yeah you're right. I also leaned TEX/OAK UNDER and MIA/ATL UNDER but didn't play it because I try to avoid playing both sides and totals in the same game. That rule is out the window. Tomorrow we'll go 2-0 (+8 units).

I agree I'm not providing as much "logic" as you are but that never works in sports gambling anyway. The most important thing I look at is trends and overall talent in teams. Pitching isn't what it used to be in MLB. If a pitcher has a horrible outing one week chances are that he'll bounce back in his next outing or the outing after that. And if a pitcher has been hot, chances are he's due for a bad one. The days of Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens etc. are gone. There is no consistent dominance anymore. So what do we do? We identify really bad teams (Diamondbacks) that are on a bad streak or really good teams (maybe Dodgers or Cardinals) that are on a brief losing streak and pick your opportunities to take them. Throw out the pitching matchups unless Phil Coke is the starting pitcher. DBacks won a game today but they are horrendous. And they're on the road. Tomorrow is a golden opportunity to take them especially when they're starting a guy that couldn't get through 4 innings last time out before the hitters figured him out. It's that simple. Don't try to dig into more detail than that.

I think the Dodgers are another great bet tomorrow. Pitching matchup is favorable to Dodgers and I think they at least split the series at home against an average Phillies team. That's it! No more "logic" than that. Let's see how I do!

For your KC/Cleveland argument you even mention that both offenses are ice cold! So why in the hell would you even touch that game? Neither pitcher is good enough to take a stand on. Who the hell knows what either one will do next time out. Seems like you're making it harder on yourself than you have to. That's a definite stay away game.

@Rg3 you are probably the best total mlb cappers on the site. I live in the DC area and watch the Nats often. They're bats can be lethal at times and Stuluts is trash on the road.. I will probably tail but why do you feel so good about this Unit play

Now you say the dbacks are a horrible team??? So are you telling me that the cubs are any better??? all you are doing is picking 1 of 2 horrible teams, I had the cubs today as well, and 9th innings like that are why it is hard to take terrible teams, like taking Houston. They are terrible, so bullshit seems to happen more with those types of teams obviously.

If you don't have anything constructive to say, just keep it moving and post your record on your own thread, so we can see how amazing you are at picking great teams.

as for the Cleveland game, how does last years number mean nothing??   So we just base every single game off "rhythm", quiet your bum behind down with that dumb garbage, baseball is all about numbers, what do you think managers change pitchers for bc the other pitcher is dancing to a better rhythm in the bullpen??? No its bc the numbers are better for that matchup. Just keep it moving clown

RG not to be a stickler but your YTD is 70-61, just for numbers sake.

I respect your defense of rg3skins. He's had some success and I'm sure all of the logic he posts makes you feel better about the games he's picking. And you're right, it's not fair for me to just attack on his post. The only reason I am is because I do follow him and every once in a while tag along. So it does pain me when I see his picks sucking. I'd like to be able to tag along on a hot streak and I see a continued bad streak here. I'll stop the bashing but watch my 2 picks tomorrow versus his. The cash will speak for itself. I will move on though. To each his own. He obviously puts a lot of thought into his picks.

Picking any two games, I bet you don't do better than 1/2 either. Anyone with a win percentage less than 75% would expect to win no more than one out of two. Learn 2 math, kid.

And "being due" for anything is about as illogical as arguments come.

As for the "you suck" comment...grow up. RG3 is still over 50%, which is almost as good as you can ask for given a decent enough sample size. This is a game of inches; a bad throw or a sudden gust of wind can be the difference between a big win and a big loss. Chiming in with your silliness just proves that you're clueless.

Also, I'm really not sure about what your point is on changing pitchers. You really can count all of the games you've won because of going to the bullpen?? Are you serious? I won't win every pick but ride talented teams and fade crap teams. I'll take the Dodgers every time at home when they're playing to even the series and I'll fade the DBacks every time on the road when they're trying to even the series. That's a successful formula over the course of the year.
