Hope everyone had a great Labor Day. My Tigers didn't. I've said this all season long, that they are so overrated. At the end of June they had the best record in baseball, but they were winning 70% of their games against weak teams ( Rockies and White Sox to name a couple). They were only 1 game over .500 vs teams with winning records at that point. They're 5 games over .500 vs teams with winning records now, but 16 games over vs the weaker teams. Plus they lost 3 at Pittsburgh and 3 at the A's the last 2 months. Everyone is hyped about Greene and Torkleson, but Greene has struck out over 170 times this year and will hit 200. Torkleson has 28 HR's, but only 5 with men on base. 23 Solo Shots. Not impressive. Now to top it off their pitching staff is in shambles. Harris did nothing to improve the pitching at the trade deadline. Finnegan has been great, but Morton (really?). OK, enough complaining.

Did you watch the game yesterday? Mets bunted, stole a base. Tigers never do that. Morton and Flaherty are a disaster. Mize can't get through 3 innings anymore. Kahnle can't pitch an inning without giving up a run. anybody who could help the team is either on the IL or at Toledo on a rehab assignment. If K.C. gets hot, they may catch Detroit. The only thing that's going to help Detroit is that 16 of the last 23 games are against teams with losing records. Oh yeah, did I mention Paddock sucks as well.

Just thought I'd throw this in. Mets 7 Detroit 2 Top of the 7th. Royals up early 1-0. If these games hold up and K.C. wins and Tigers lose, K.C. will be 7 losses behind the Tigers. Anyone remember the 1964 Phillies? Or the year the Red Sox blew that big lead.

Tigers put Paddack in the game (he's been relegated to the bullpen), and he's pitch 1and 1/3 innings 6 runs 7 hits including back to back bombs by Soto and Alonso. 10 batters and 8 hits. They just pulled him. I wonder if they have his ticket punched for Toledo. I would just cut ties with him.
