Interesting stats about MLB series sweeps: in 2013 only 26% of 3 game series ended in sweep. Last year the teams with most sweeps were Indians A's Braves Brewers and Reds.

Last year home teams recorded 87 sweeps in 3 game series. Road teams recorded 56 sweeps.

Potentially useful to help select best series winners by avoiding home teams like Indians A's Braves Brewers Reds with history of home series sweeps. I would add Nats to that list....

Actually has been 4 in a row, but the return on investment is still good for the system.

 

Good info Bizarro a team to stay away from is the A's esp.. at home...Only reason they didnt sweep the Yanks was that crazy good person pitcher they have.

Tanaka wasn't even that big of a factor is yesterdays game. He went 6 innings and had roughly the same stats as A's pitcher. A's simply couldn't cash in when they had RISP.

Strap them on folks because payback is a b*tch......

Anybody work the numbers on chasing past the series end?  How expensive and ugly this would get ?  If the team is a chronic underdog and the money management is this formula (below), maybe it would pay to go 5 games or so.... haven't run the numbers on the losses, but if someone wants to shoot a list of the losses Ill crank out the results
