F5 – Astros RL, -.5 -115 (pays 86.96), Kikuchi/Burrows

I see real potential in Burrows, and frankly father time is catching up to Kikuchi. At 34 I expect some serious decline in a guy that is basically a fly ball pitcher, without a particularly stellar whip or k/bb ratio. Add to that an embarrassing loss for the Astros yesterday and you have an offense coming out looking for blood. I would have preferred to play the straight money line but the odds are a little high on that. I never play a home team on the 9 inning run line, but 5 is different because you know your team is going to get to bat in the bottom of the 5. Nothing makes the stomach queasy like seeing the visitor come to bat in the top of the 9, down one run, and HOPING they score, so you can dream of your team coming up with a 2 (or more) run dinger later and save your run line bet, Ugh!

Sick loss yesterday. You have truly run bad the last few years. Time for things to even out and start a great run. Good luck!

 Sac took my Giants, think you might have been on to something in  their first game, but Ray could pitch well. I do not see my Giants having much of a shot with the pitching, about same as last year with Webb having a decent year in today's baseball. But with the innings last year and 15 wins could be a decline for him this year which does not make them the White Sox but .500 seems out of reach to me.

 Sac will never cease to amaze us will he? Robbie still looks OK, but at 34 you gotta know the decline is not far off. It looks good from the "bounce back" theory angle, but the Yankees project as well offensively versus lefty as they do against righty. I'm staying off this one, and don't project the Giants past 80 wins. That division is going to be brutal.

 Yeh I am not playing them, I have not worked since Covid shutdown I can not waste money anymore on teams I like. . 

Reg is still upset over rule changes, compares the Black Sox to the new shift rule and a host of others. One he missed is the NEW ABS, has anyone used this dumb idea yet?I do not think making games shorter is a thing anymore.

 Yeah, ABS has been used in the games. I don't see it as a handicapping tool. Tell Reggie (unless he's viewing) that times change and there ain't nuthin we can do about it, just roll with the punches. Mickey, Willie, Stan and Ted ain't comin back

 Since you're from the desert, what do you think about Ryne Nelson?

He's gotten better every year since joining the Snakes in 2022.

This spring allowing only 2 walks vs 23 strikeouts, he's coming into the season in great form.

The Dodgers are always a steep price, but -245?

 Now sac, you got enough brains to check out Sheehan for yourself, but since you are probably busy with your rubber doll and trying to negotiate a beer with one hand and a bass lure in the other I will try to help out (Key to the rescue). Short career stats on Sheehan but very respectable. Ryne Nelson is adequate, but does not make my heart go pitty-pat. The line is way too high, I compute -148 as fair, but the Dodgers offense is much too good to go against today. If you play it, play it small, who knows?

Rubber dolls and fishing lures don't mesh well together. I'm Polish, but not "that" Polish. I would never risk a puncture to my doll.

Fwiw, after further review, I love the Astros play. There's a lot to like about it, you have my support.
