Gm 5 - SFG v LAD...why you should love the over here

Initially I thought gm 5, good pitching, pressure scenario take the under 6.5/7.

Then doing some research into past gm 5 divisional round situations I checked the last 5 years - not counting 2020. 

Here are your totals...

2019 - 7,14,10

2018 - no gm 5’s

2017 - 7,17

2016 - 7

2015 - 9,9,5

In summary if you bet this number you’d have lost once in 9 games.

Over 7 

Twice in 10 games after this game, it's not going over

Ball is less juiced this year, please recall that.

Less juice this yr for sure. Although still juiced, not as much

So far no ones really given me a good explanation why the above data is so heavily skewed towards 7+ run games in this situation, apart from the ball isn't juiced as much as past seasons.

Sorry, but "it's not going over...it's just not man!" would have lost 89% of the time.  

That brings me to the question of the ball being juiced.  Here are the average runs scored for this season compared with the same number of games in those 5 post seasons referenced above.

2021 - 8.33

2019 - 8.27

2018 - 7.83

2017 - 9.05

2016 - 7.72

2015 - 8.44

Apart from 2017, which is the anomalous year where runs scored increase by ~0.75 runs, this year is the 3rd highest for total runs in the post season - so far.  Ball less juiced, I can't see it.

#cancelculture strikes again and claims another victim...Urias' start in game 5 has been canceled due to a TV show Urias loved to watch as a 9 yr old on Saturday mornings...no one's safe anymore
