Couple thoughts Short card

Cant Back Padres and trash Canning but Braves for whatever reason are 2-15 on the RL-1.5 after scoring 7 or more at home playing at home this and last year.

I mentioned Atlanta overnight, but that was probably the Dodgers win, a little gambling high and a couple glasses of wine talking. The Braves first five -0.5 is now -167 at my book I’m not interested 

I would like to find something today, and I am digging through this short card now. I may have one spot with a edge, but I am not forcing anything. This might just be a good day to take it easy.

 Right on...super suction on the Braves this morning. Tatis, Bogey and Machado have great numbers vs. Sale, all over .300 BA. Pads RL looks very interesting, ML too.

Pads' day split OPS is over 40 points higher than that of the Bravos.

If you like to gamble, Pads ML is the play.

 The full game can be a reach. Sale will pitch 6-7 innings holding off the Padres. But if you really like to roll the dice, f5 ML for the Padres is at +200. +0.5 is +130.

Just  a Fyi Hart a lefty is starting for san diego in place of canning.

Why are we backing off the Braves? Hart comes in pitches an inning or two followed by Canning for the Padres. 

Canning’s been rough this year (1-8, 6.67 ERA), and his history against Atlanta is ugly, he lasted just 2/3 of an inning against them back on June 23, giving up multiple runs. Using Hart to soak up the first inning against the top of the order, then bringing in Canning, at least delays the damage rather than letting him face the lineup fresh in the first.

Sale has been excellent all season (2.06 ERA) and comes in off 7 scoreless innings in his last start. He’s also surpassed 2,700 career strikeouts and has looked like vintage Chris Sale lately. 

Against today’s Padres lineup:
Tatis has seen him well (.333 in limited ABs) Machado has had some success historically
Cronenworth has really struggled
Several hitters have very little experience against him. 

San Diego has been very streaky recently.

Yesterday they scored five in the 9th after being mostly quiet for eight innings. 

They haven’t consistently jumped on elite lefties.

Put me down for NRFI and F5 -0.5…oh ya the juice is the reason! Ugh 

Blue Jays outscored 23-5 in this series and have allowed 42 hits. 

Not sure if it's Seymour or Legumina starting... seeing different info at different shops.

If it's Seymour: Blue Jays bat .214 against lefties and in this series alone they are .077 BA against lefties...

S.Bieber coming off best start of the season, lines up nice for a fade here either way.

 Pads have the best closer in baseball; they also have a great LH set-up man in Morejon. A first 5 bet would negate the possibility of their services. Minor, ticky-tacky point, I know, but any small edge is hard to pass up.

Good morning LV, pretty brutal card today. Personally, I was only able to circle one game and that’s St Louis.

St Louis check most of the boxes. They miss on recent offensive form and first day back from a West coast road trip. However, that 2nd miss cancels itself out with AZ being on 1st game of a road trip. And Arizona has yet to win 1st game of a road trip vs a greater than 500 team. 

Significant pitching advantage with McGreevy. He just doesn’t get hit hard at home, pitching to a 1.89 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. This will be the Dbacks first look at him too. IMO, Pfaadt is decent, but a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Smoked in the second. Without any data to prove it; it seems this year massively large lines seem to backfire more often than not. 

Not as nasty through 2.  It was a good pass by LV especially since the Padres are 10-3 vs. Atlanta over the last 13 played.  Though Sale has historically done great vs. the Pads.
