That is an amazing menu, Hank. The deviled eggs are perfect, and the thick-cut pork chops sound incredible. I do not like to overcook those either. Obviously not rare, but definitely a little pink in the middle. That glaze on top sounds unreal. Great menu.

Yankees are way overdue for a run explosion. Will it happen today I do not have any clue.

I know I asked you before how you determine how much this matters to you. I get a big bat out of the lineup can matter. I get the right mix of LH or RH hitters can matter.
But how do you decide how much a weak hitting midfielder even matters?
Are you just going by ‘feel’ or intuition?
Or do you have a some type of player assessment that you plug in and adjust per each lineup?
Just curious — whenever you have time. ![]()

You cannot get too upset on Covers. A lot of them are just looking for a play. They do not care about the work, the process, or the gamble behind it. They are takers, not givers.
Me? I am a giver tonight, Boogie. Trust me on this one.

Do you do something akin to this:
Mets Lineup Ratings
Mets Total: 64.6
Average: 7.18
Braves Lineup Ratings
Braves Total: 61.3
Average: 6.81
Overall Comparison
Edge: Mets by 3.3 rating points, driven primarily by the elite top of the order (Lindor, Soto, and Bichette).

The 3.3-point gap isn't huge, but it's meaningful. Most of the difference comes from:
If these teams faced the same average pitcher tonight, I'd estimate the Mets' lineup projects to produce roughly 0.3 to 0.5 more runs over the course of a game based on offensive talent alone. Pitching, bullpen quality, ballpark, and matchups can easily outweigh that difference on any given night, but on paper the Mets have the stronger lineup.

That is not mine. I just tossed something together for an example with player ratings, etc. I know folks that do that with soccer and basketball. But I have never known someone that relies on it a lot in MLB.
I think pitching and advanced metrics are more important.
But I am interested in how an average middle infielder affects how folks that use this sort of thing really make it work for them.
I get if a Soto is out — that is a big deal.
But how do you account for a LF that is just average being in or out of the lineup?
