The Braves are 13-25 on the road since May 31st. They have lost 9 of 11 road series since the beginning of June (2-9-1 officially with their recent 2-game split in Washington). Since late May they have won the final two games of a road series one time, and that was in Pittsburgh.

The Atlanta Braves were on the verge of yet another road loss in the 8th inning on the wrong end of a 4-1 score. They needed a hero, and they were holding out for a hero into the afternoon twilight. And he had to be sure, and he had to act fast, and he had to be larger than life. 

And then up to the plate came their superstar Ronald Acuna, Jr. representing the tying run.

One majestic swing later, smiles and high fives abounded in the visitors dugout, and no longer was anyone asking where have the great players gone, or where are the baseball gods? They didn’t have to, because the Braves had found their streetwise Hercules and he had defeated the rising odds.
