looks pretty good. It's hard to imagine the guy playing Howling Mad Murdoch is the same guy from District 9. He sounds nothing like he did in D9.

Anyone see that trailer for the new Travolta movie, where he has a shaved head and earrings an he slides down a firemans pole upside down firing guns everywhere?  Absolutely hysterical!

as long as people are going to see a movie about 10 foot blue people, I can live in fantasy land about flying thru the air on a tank. If you really want a hard  to believe movie check out Shoot em up with Clive Owen. He kills a guy by smashing a carrot thru his eye.

Actually while no-one is expecting the A-Team to be good "KickAss" is being hyped as one of the better movies to come out in a while.

Im not saying for a second that its gonna get Oscar Consideration.  It's just being hyped as being a super-entertaining, funny, violent film.  Along the lines of "Kill Bill"

And of course, b/c only movies that get Oscar consideration are worth watching right?

The French love Jerry Lewis. Should I believe their hype?

Without even watching the movie, I can tell you what the plot points are:

Teenagers
Misfits
Thrown together because they're "different"
Since one of them is a girl, there will be a love story involved
Oh, the angst of being young and different!

I'm sorry, but I've seen "The Breakfast Club"

You miss my point about Oscar. A movie is what it is:drama, comedy, whatever-but you can't watch a James Bond movie and try and tell yourself "I hope I see some really good acting!" This ain't Shakespeare!

And I need to see more than 6 movies a year, so I tend to go well beyond Oscar...............

Ok, Im done trying to argue pop culture with somone who listens to Emerson Lake and Palmer. 

I tried to repeatedly stress that the trailers are likely very unindicative of how good the film might be.  Having read about the movie, I can tell you that there won't be a love story involving the girl (shes 11),  among the other dumb points that you are guessing it will be about.

To claim that b/c it has teen-age characters its gonna be like "The Breakfast Club" is fucking retarded.

Though granted you do listen to Emerson Lake and Palmer, meaning you're at least like 55 fucking years old, and likely consider Teenagers scary creatures what with their rap music and their baggy pants and whatnot.  Pour a glass of prune juice for me tonight old man, ok?

Just because it had teenagers in it doesn't scare me. What I tried to point out (and you seemed to miss) is that the same plot points in The Breakfast Club will probably end up in this movie.

Which, I would not have known had I not watched The Breakfast Club.

sick and tired of remakes...

2010 movies..... comic book rehashing with greenhornet and ironman2, old movie and tv rehashing with the a-team, robin hood, piranha, wallstreet2, nightmare on elmstreet, tron, and alice in wonderland (depp acting weird again?) rehashing the rehashed with narnia, saw, harry potter, step up, cats and dogs, another bullshit twilight crap movie, toy story and shrek. the only really cool remake will be Red Dawn... Wolverines!
