Religion loves to grab hold of opportunities like this to fear more people into rejoining their local congregations.

Somehow, humans have the power to keep god out of school.  This is the same god who has unlimited power and knowledge.

"I know there is going to be a school shooting today where innocent kids are going to die, but those pesky humans wont allow me in those schools.  If only this would happen at a Chick Fil A instead."

brother system  , mid 60's and no clouds in southern california today? 

i like that letter.  it's not perfect but it's similar to the rightwing = anti-jesus point i and others make around here.

what's more important?  bringing prayer back in school because this huckabee clown knows it's a big issue with his base or making sure the schools have sufficient resources and quality teachers to teach the kids and try to give these kids (even the poor ones and the darker skinned ones) have the best education possible? 

which would jesus think is more important?  what do the rightwingers focus on?

I dont think Christ would back 99% of current "Christian" organizations. 

Churches are about money and power, not Christ.

This is a ridiculous statement. Religion had nothing to do with what Huckabee said. Matter of fact if you read this letter I believe that this "Pta mom" believes in some kind of God. I am not getting any more involved in a religion discussion on this board but all of you that think you are absolutely correct on your beliefs and are unwilling to see every side I am sincerely sorry. And that goes out to everyone from Atheists to Muslims to Christians. But all of you that think this is funny or a laughing matter have serious problems because this stuff that is going on is no laughing matter, 

I have any opinion on this shooting stuff but thats for another conversation.

Most of Jesus' anger, though rare, was aimed at the church. The letters of Paul were specifically written to both educate and chastise the churches. 
A good friend of mine told me not long ago, that if we could go back to the Garden of Eden, the result would be the same, whether it was an entire culture of agnostics or the most scholarly Christians. We as humans fall far short of perfection, which leads most of us to seek something or someone which is perfect.

Unfortunately, this world cannot solve its own problems. It thinks it can do it on its own, it knows best and IT DOES not!.  I see some of the most far-left haters arrogantly thinking they know best for others and pushing a secular agenda on others. they claim they want tolerance, but are some of the most intolerant people on Earth, especially if you are a Christian.. we cannot utter the name CHRIST in "Christ"-mas how dare that... .  i find this world full of evil, intolerance and haters period

Exactly..

Churches are not really focused on Christ and his teachings, most of them selectively forward what they want from his teachings and ignore other aspects they do not like or which do not pursue their interests.

The Garden of Eden and the early part of the Bible is much more about socialism and consecration, about working together as a large group working to a common goal..nothing about paid ministries or OT fear based garbage.
