holdem, this guy uses his political office to legitimize rape by using his religion (the ultimate tool of manipulation) and god and i'm the asshole? 

first, i know you love these threads because you always come in and them and i intentionally make it clear what the thread is about in the title.  these threads are easy to avoid. 

but i do have to respond to your accusation as i always do.  i have no problem with christians.  i don't care if a person is christian, mormon, muslim or any of the many other religions.  whatever their beliefs are, i can't disprove them nor do i care to.  i may have some questions out of interest or curiosity but if you are secure in your beliefs, questions never hurt anyone. or just don't answer and that's fine too.

however, i do hate people who use their religion and god to manipulate people through politics or otherwise, to steal money, to take advantage of kids, to denigrate women, to impose their agendas on others or who just spew their hatred and discrimination against a group, all in the name of their god, or in other words, to scare people to believing the same thing or preying on their insecurities.  that's what we have here. and if i make a lot of threads about christians doing it, that just means there are a lot of christians doing it. 

next time a hindu or seik does it in this country and i miss it, you let me know.  i know extremist muslims are fucked up, but most of that shit happens in a country i'll never visit.  i care more about people fucking up this country than others, even if foxnews and your republican politicians tell you we need to waste soldiers' lives and spend billions of our money interfering with shit happening in countries many miles away that means nothing to us at the expense of helping our own.

The comment itself is bogus and completely without Biblical merit. God doesn't intend for rape to happen anymore than he intends for a child to be molested by a priest. God doesn't want his people to love him because he forces them to. True love has to be a choice. It's called free will. It's called faith. God still helps, but he won't interfere.
