do you pay taxes on your gambling winnings?

Anything over 1200 in local casino's earns an automatic ticket for federal w/ the option of local (now you can also get a ticket at end of year that shows losses to go against winnings). That's casino gm's in the US but I highly doubt an offshore matters, since it doesn't seem to be a problem w/ the wealthy tax evaders
