Clearly not perfect but we don't have lots of random shootings unless someone was tied to the killer or gun toter. I still would pick no one carrying them in streets only homes. Sry if people get hurt but it prevents a lot more ridiculous gun crimes. We are strict enough to prevent anyone from carrying around a gun to police themselves and take lives at will. I know you wouldn't but many are capable!

And how do you propose that is implemented?  Seriously, I would love to hear how you propose the US makes it so no one carries a gun in public. Since in Canada you “are strict enough to prevent ANYONE from carrying around a gun” let’s hear how you do it.

Once again, when it’s all said and done there are two realistic options:

1). Only criminals (and LE) are allowed to carry guns while law-abiding citizens are defenseless against them.

2). Criminals carry guns and law-abiding citizens are allowed the option of carrying to protect themselves and their families.

    Pick one.

Personally I am in favor of men being able to protect their families from criminals and women being given every opportunity to defend themselves from rapists.  But hey, that’s just me.

Oh and feel free to find a few stories where a person that was legally carrying a gun went on a shooting rampage and started taking innocent lives at will.  I would be interested in seeing them.

I still can't believe the angst some people have for law abiding citizens who want to carry a firearm.  Please show me the FACTS that show this is a danger to your average citizen who chooses to NOT carry a firearm.  There just isn't.

There is another guy in our office who also carries and that makes me feel even safer.

99.999% of people will carry a gun their entire life and never have to pull it. People think that people who carry want to act like a bad ass.  Actually, I carry because I KNOW I'm NOT a bad ass.

haha nice! I understand a GOOD person wouldn't use them but when anybody can get and carry them it is way too hard to seperate Good and Bad. You and Shooter may be great people but whats stopping the next joe blow that is going to get it to cause harm? Being able to legally purchase and then being able to carry does nothing but add more crimes. Up here we carry purchase but must remain in the house.

What I'm saying is that is great when law abiding citizens want to carry but it is too easy for criminals to one as well. Just becasue you may not sell directly to someone with a record doesn't mean criminals aren't easily purchasing.

All I know is USA has a disgusting number of homicides that is makes me sick. You guys can't even think about gun control because you are too far gone already. When people are carrying to the gyms and cornerstore your country is beyond fucked up. I'm sorry you have to live in a sense of fear all the time or that someone could/will pull on you. I live in a city outside of Toronto with 258,000 population so relativley small. We haven't had a gun homicide in 5+ years! If you are carrying up here, you're the problem and no better then the criminals.

I certainly understand now then if you guys feel this need to conceal and carry it just must be too violent where you're living. I just haven't ever experienced that other then fighting two god damn terms (thanks to your country) in kanadhar city. I still don't understand the protect the family by taking it wherever you go unless they are with you.

An shooter I guess I pick option 1. At least up here we rely on cops to handle that shit and expect common respect among each other not to shove guns down peoples throats. I've been a part time bouncer in my hometown and toronto since I came back 3-4 years ago and not once have I ever worried about a gun. Just the occasional fists we get and I think 1 knife scare. Criminals up here seem to take themseleves out not the average joe blow.

Look at you compared to any other civilized country...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate

Ew look at those top ten! Must be a hoot being like them!

Ew look at those top ten! Must be a hoot being like them!

Again: feel free to find a few stories where a person that was legally carrying a gun went on a shooting rampage and started taking innocent lives at will.  I would be interested in seeing them.

“Being able to legally purchase and then being able to carry does nothing but add more crimes.”

I suppose you have incontrovertible proof of such a claim.

“What I'm saying is that is great when law abiding citizens want to carry but it is too easy for criminals to one as well.”

Breaking news: criminals don’t obey the law anyway.  The only people who would obey such a law are law-abiding citizens.

“All I know is USA has a disgusting number of homicides that is makes me sick.”

The US has 313,000,000 people with some of the most populated cities in the world and Canada has 35,000,000 people.  The US has a homicide rate 3 times that of Canada.  Oh the humanity!!!

“your country is beyond fucked up.”

The United States of America is the greatest country in recorded history.  Anyone who dislikes it can go fuck themselves. And personally I would think someone would be more appreciative of their older brother watching their back on the playground, but I guess you would rather take every opportunity to badmouth them.

“I'm sorry you have to live in a sense of fear all the time”

Again: you are confusing fear with preparation.  I own a few fire extinguishers.  That doesn’t mean I am scared to death of a fire.

“I just haven't ever experienced that other then fighting two god damn terms (thanks to your country).”

The United States has the power to force men from other countries to join the military?  I had no idea.

“I still don't understand the protect the family by taking it wherever you go.”

Yes, we know.  You have made it abundantly clear the concept of protecting one’s family is foreign to you.

“An shooter I guess I pick option 1.”

So you would rather only criminals are allowed to carry guns while law-abiding citizens are defenseless?  Men who go out looking to commit violent crime SHOULD be allowed to carry guns while men who want to protect their families and women who want to protect themselves from rapists SHOULD NOT be allowed to carry guns?

You should be ashamed of yourself.

“Look at you compared to any other civilized country... Ew look at those top ten! Must be a hoot being like them!”

    Minion’s argument in a nutshell:

“People should not be allowed to carry guns because a deranged lunatic may go on a shooting spree at anytime and anyone who would want to carry a gun out of fear of such a lunatic is paranoid.”

Shooter you saw the rates. That's per capita. How are criminals allowed or "should be allowed?" I never said they should. Still against the law for them. Yeah they can get them illegally but face the penalty. I'm not arming up and carrying for 1. Not facing charges and 2. Am not scared in canada of getting shot at the gym or cornerstone. Our lunatics are few and far between. Our criminals mostly deal with each other. As far as facts it works? Um... Well ask all us other modern countries that don't have gun crimes by thousands! As far as respecting the USA? Look at my back. Notice anything? How about fighting and seeing lots of your good boys go down! By your system is still fucked. Funny thing is more then half your country prolly agrees with me and your ridiculous gun laws. Look at moore's movies. Even bowling with columbine??!! Didn't those boys just randomly get them or grab them from law abiding citizens??? And Moore goes into a bank to grab a gun? Just scary and ridiculous. Get a grip! Funny how you think America is the greasiest thing since sliced bread. Here's a FYI...the world for the most part hates you! Unjust and sad but the worlds opinion is quite telling.

I'm just from a place where gun control works well. A normal Joe blow doesn't worry about needing a gun to protect themselves.

Yes, I saw the murder rates.  They would be kind of hard to miss seeing as how I was the one that posted them.

For about the third time: criminals don’t obey the law.  That’s what makes them criminals.  How are you not getting this?  Criminals carry guns regardless of what laws are passed.  All banning CCL does is prevent law abiding men from protecting their families, women protecting themselves from rapists, etc.

You said people could snap and start shooting others.  Hence your argument in a nutshell is:

“People should not be allowed to carry guns because a deranged lunatic may go on a shooting spree at anytime and anyone who would want to carry a gun out of fear of such a lunatic is paranoid.”

Can you really not see how ridiculous that looks?

And support for stricter gun control is at an all time low in America.  But hey, you haven’t let the facts get in the way of your argument so far so why start now?

What?  A school shooting happened?   That’s impossible because schools are gun free zones and people aren’t allowed to carry guns there. You are probably just mistaken.

So because people on the outside looking in hate something that means it automatically isn’t great?  Well don’t tell that to the Lakers, Yankees, Patriots, Cowboys, and all the other sports dynasties people were jealous of.

What about those columbine kids? Didn't they steal the guns from their law abiding parents? Could be mistaken but though that was some of the source. One of my points was law abiding citizens have them and lose/have them stolen. That would count the same as them doing would it not since the guns were registered to law abiding citizens that didn't properly protect the them?

I’m starting to notice a trend.  I respond to almost every point/argument you make.  Then you only respond to a few of my responses.  Sometimes (like this one) you only respond to one of them.

As for Columbine: someone committed an illegal straw purchase and bought the guns for Harris and Klebold.  Again: criminals don’t obey the law.

What I find saddest about the Columbine shooting is that the cops just sat outside the school twiddling their thumbs while Harris and Klebold casually walked from student to student executing them.  Hell, even when SWAT got there with full tactical gear they still sat outside while shots rang out.

If you want to see what happens when only criminals are allowed to carry guns and law abiding citizens are forbidden, look no further than Columbine and Virginia Tech.

It’s sad to think how many lives could have been saved if just one properly trained teacher brought their CCW to Columbine that day or if one properly trained licensed V-Tech student or teacher brought their CCW to class that day.

It’s bad enough a nut job opening fire and killing people. But its even worse when that nut job is allowed to just casually walk around executing defenseless people because people that think like you decided they shouldn’t have to right to defend themselves.

Ever notice how mass shootings almost always take place in “gun free zones” where law abiding citizens are defenseless and never at gun shows where guns are everywhere?

Murderers, robbers, and rapists prefer their victims to be unarmed and they love "gun free zones."  It’s a shame people like you are so hell-bent on making their job easier.

    I’m on the Broncos.

But what kind of scares me is this is the first game Tebow has started this season that Denver SHOULD win (IMO).  The Broncos seem to play better when almost everyone is telling them they CAN'T win.  Now almost everyone is telling them they WILL win.

Hey shooter, listen about only posting to some things i honestly take blame but it is because (as you prolly notice) im on my iphone at the bar and can't quote (or am ignorant to how to on a mobile). I try to remember as much as possible.

Anyway as for columbine I can agree with you about a teacher being armed. You know what I honestly have to say you're right about the law abiding people carrying. When it becomes that bad and you have crazy gun crimes you do need to protect yourself. I still don't agree with the gym and out for gas but understand and trust you that if you say it is needed then it is. It's just other then service i've seen one friend carry up here. It's suicide too! Just too much too lose compared to the random chance of using it. Hell there is no batman so we do have look out for ourselves. Hope you don't ever have to be in that sit. I afraid I have both killed and seen my close friends go down. I am a christian man and i've done things I regret to keep me and my squad safe. You're right it is survival. God bless the western world including you guys in the states! I guess I never mentioned either my two uncles served in Nam when my grandfather was in the caf and stayed in philly for many years. My father was just too young and turned 18 when it ended! Trust me even though you may think I spew crap at you guys I still love the States. I just wish more of you would learn about the world! Over 80% of my clients are in the states and my fav team remains the bruins! What a fuckin couple of years!

Anyway you're extremely smart (more so then myself) and i totally commend you on that! God bless the western world and God save our Queen!!!!

    I’m on the Broncos.

But what kind of scares me is this is the first game Tebow has started this season that Denver SHOULD win (IMO).  The Broncos seem to play better when almost everyone is telling them they CAN'T win.  Now almost everyone is telling them they WILL win.

True about the telling them they will win! Perhaps a layoff in this spot. Buff is so awful though! lol

Little by little you are starting to come around.

Although if you are on board with a teacher being armed I don’t see why you would be against a law-abiding citizen being armed while they are filling up at a gas station at midnight.

I have been involved in at least a dozen gun related threads on this site and I have to say that you have been one of the most civil anti-2A guys I’ve seen.

I just know the media is drooling with the possibility of Tebow having another miraculous comeback on Christmas Eve.
