if for instance you lost 11 games laying 110 to win 100 each (all ten are -110)
you lose 110 x 11 = 1210
but if you buy the juice and lose 10 and push 1... you lose only
120 x 10 = 1200 so you still save 10 dollars
i mean, its not far to think that in 11 games that you lose, 1 of them will be lost due to the hook right?
so if you could turn 2 losses out of 11 losses to 2 pushes, you are saving a lot more as well...
i need opinions. thanks!
there are statistics that will show you how many games end with a 3, 7, etc point difference. those statistics can help you determine whether it is a good idea to buy a half point depending on the cost of the half point.
for the record, i never buy any points. if matchbook offers a couple of different lines, i may choose the better line depending on the price.
it's hard to win paying 110. it's much harder to win over time paying 120 or mroe. people think buying points is better than it is because everyone remembers the time they got screwed by half a point and the time they won when they bought the half a point but they don't think about all of the times they won easily and bought the half point or lost by a lot and paid extra for the half a point.

only in the NFL to move on or off a "key" number....personally, i would never buy points in college football or any other sport. points are cheap in college football and basketball. i dont even like doing it in the NFL but occasionally i will. same goes for "teasers" because points are cheap in everything other than the NFL imo.

It's very rare for it to be statistically worthwhile to buy a half point from -110 to -120. Very rare. If you make a habit of it, you will lose your ass.

Never buy the hook in basketball .Only in rare occasions in football but otherwise you are throwing money away. The facts are these: Every half point you add to the spread you increase your chances of winning the bet by a little more than 2 %. Therefore the hook is about twice as expensive sa it should be. Its a ripoff and a loser in the long run. the books wished everyone was dumb enough o lay -120 on every bet. I know losing by the hook sucks and it sticks in your brain but overall its a loser.

Always buy the hook when your thinking of buying the hook, because the time you dont, is the time you needed it. The advice here is just be consistent.

If you buying off anything other than 3,7 or 14 in the NFL you're wasting your money . Also you cant be paying more than -120 on 7 and 14 and -130 on 3 or you are also losing money
