Actually bet the spread against Bama this past weekend because they were in a sandwich spot.  I don't let my bias interfere with my trying to make money.  But thanks for acknowledging the toughness of the schedule.

It's funny the impression these Big12 teams leave on people. Everyone sees these 60-70pt scores and falls in love with these teams. Thats great in the regular season when you're playing other Big12 teams (because they don't have defenses)but come playoffs it won't happen. They had a 2-5 bowl record last year. Yet the Big 10 and ACC get underrated every single year because they don't have the high flying offenses but they always seem to be better all around teams. Take Ohio State for example. No one thought they should have even made the playoffs, they go on to beat Bama and dominate Oregon. Wisconsin gets hammered in the Big Ten championship then beats Auburn in a bowl game. Mich St comes back and beats the almighty Baylor bears. Then in the ACC, Clemson completely embarrasses Oklahoma and Georgia Tech beats a good Miss St. team. Baylor and TCU may be that good but don't let the high numbers fool you. The defensive competition in conference games is pathetic.

I do think they have a tough schedule.  That's why I said what I said.  No way they are out of the woods IF they get past A&M.  I'm glad you put your bias aside when wagering   congrats.  But you still made a stupid comment previously.

Funny thing about Clemsoning.. Kevin Steele played a huge part in that. Now the D coordinator at LSU. Waiting for them to get smoked by a mobile qb.

Meanwhile, SEC teams will play 6-7 ranked teams a year.

Wouldnt it be nice if 10 ACC teams were ranked based on a guess? Then bottom feeders got ranked for beating the teams that should have never been ranked?

It wasn't stupid because you didn't understand.  Im sweating this one because its an away game against an undefeated ranked team.  But what concerns me most is how Alabama will handle the AM spread offense.  Against a ground and pound conventional I have no such worries.

first time checking out this thread. holy sheep shat this is good entertainment

ACC is weak always has been. point and case is FSU last year. Bama is no doubt still a top 5 team. LSU is also a top 5 team. I hate the freakin big 10 but any team in the 5 power conferences that only allows 7 points in 4 games is a force to be reckoned with. This is Jim Harbough's team and as someone said earlier defense wins championships. While yes Baylor is a high powered offense they always are, and they are the same team they have always been... a top 5 team throughout the year but not a championship contender.

my final 4 (im sure no one cares)
    Michigan
    Bama
    Utah
    Clemson

    BOL this week

Fantastic post Stan......how about Texas beating Oklahoma LW as another example of the inconsistent play in the B12?  Not that every other power 5 conference doesn't have some examples like this, but it seems like defense is overlooked sometimes. Chicks dig the long ball

Along those lines, what would Baylor vs Michigan look like right now?

For the record, my 10 in NO ORDER since we don't need to worry about it being only 4 until about Thanksgiving.

    Alabama
    Baylor
    Ohio st
    Utah
    Stanford
    Clemson
    TCU
    FSU
    LSU
    Michigan
. I think once tcu gets healthy on defense, they'll have a say in who the best team in the country is.

They will need to stay undefeated to do that.  Baylor on deck late in season.

. Agreed, but their offense looks damn near impossible to stop right now, with boykin running it like a week oiled machine.  if their defense can get healthy, they can beat anyone.
