I'm trying to talk myself into thinking FSU can win with the whole recruiting aspect, but based on what I've seen on the actual football field this year, I'm just not so sure.

Which is unfortunate because I think Bama rolls over Ohio St. I really want at least one (or both) to be great games.

The kid has accounted for 52 tds and 2 ints this year.  I also would take Mariotta over Winston because Winston is a complete moron off the field.  I don't think you could argue that point.
Good luck man.  Florida State is a good team, but you poking your chest out like they are the greatest dynasty ever and no one can/will beat them is comical.  The fact is that once Jameis leaves the "dynasty" is over because you can't just pick up a football player like him every year.  He is a once every 10-20 year player.
You act like FSU is just Jameis Winston. There is a reason we have the longest bowl streak in the NCAA. Jimbo Fisher has the train loaded up ready to roll with another recruiting class littered with 5 star talent. No doubt Jameis is historic and I expected all of this when FSU started recruiting him in 2010/2011. Ive expected this for 4 years, thats why I pound my chest. No one has been more accurate in college football than I have been. I bet FSU -- with a freshman QB after EJ left -- to win the title last year in May of 2013... And it hit. It's going to happen again. FSU is a dynasty. It actually is listed as one of the 5 recognized ollegiate football dynasties per SI. Before there was "SEC speed" there was Florida State speed. The SEC was molded after FSU. Mariota is the product of a system and FSU has played a much more difficult schedule -- despite what metrics want you to believe. My metric is this -- how many secondary and defensive pros has Mariota faced and how many has Winston faced? Louisville, Miami, Clemson, Notre Dame, Florida, among others have MANY more NFL pro prospects than the likes of Mariota against Washington, Washington State, Utah, Oregon State, Colorado, and Cal. Since I deal in the business of facts -- here are facts to pimp out Mariota's system as to why he was so many TDS:PAC 12 PASS defense rankings in D1 football (consisting of 128 teams):California -- 128thWashington St -- 126thWashington -- 124thArizona -- 119thOregon -- 114th (just to show how inflated the PAC 12 really is and that Winston is absolutely going to shred the 114th overall pass defense)USC -- 110thArizona State -- 107thColorado -- 101stOregon State -- 93rdUtah -- 90thUCLA -- 87thStanford -- 7thNo doubt, Mariota is going to win the Heisman this year and he deserves it. But Winston will win the game. There is no way around it. Winston is Aaron Rodgers.Mariota is Colin Kaepernick All of his off field issues are minor and actually non existent since CURSING. Lets crucify the man for cursing. His only off the field issues of any merit are CURSING and ACCEPTING (not stealing as they were pre packaged by a friend and waiting for him) crab legs. He was suspended for both offenses. Missed a handful of baseball games for the crab legs and the nation was introduced to Sean Maguire against Clemson for his cursing incident.

Winston isn't in the same galaxy as Aaron Rodgers & he has thrown more picks this year than Mariota has in his entire career at Oregon

Winston is a better pro prospect no doubt but he isn't anywhere close to Aaron Rodgers

That's truly the dumbest statement I've read in a decade at covers or at least close to it, wow

Since I deal in the business of facts -- here are facts to pimp out Mariota's system as to why he was so many TDS:

PAC 12 PASS defense rankings in D1 football (consisting of 128 teams):

    California -- 128th
    Washington St -- 126th
    Washington -- 124th
    Arizona -- 119th
Oregon -- 114th (just to show how inflated the PAC 12 really is and that Winston is absolutely going to shred the 114th overall pass defense)

    USC -- 110th
    Arizona State -- 107th
    Colorado -- 101st
    Oregon State -- 93rd
    Utah -- 90th

No doubt, Mariota is going to win the Heisman this year and he deserves it. But Winston will win the game. There is no way around it.

    Winston is Aaron Rodgers.
    Mariota is Colin Kaepernick

All of his off field issues are minor and actually non existent since CURSING.

With your highlighted statements above, I can't debate with someone I consider irrational and insane.  Jameis Winston is Aaron Rodgers.  Do you sell what you smoke?

All of his off field issues are minor<<<<Really? Please tell me you are joking. The kid not only gets ACCUSED of sexual assault, he decides to standup in the student union and say what he did...How stupid can you be?  To be fair, "Hell has no fury like a woman scorned", so he might not be guilty of sexual assault if he used her and she was trying to get back at him, BUT any SENSIBLE human being knows that is the last thing they should say while under the spotlight after being accused of sexual assault.  Great football player on the field, COMPLETE and UTTER MORON off of it.

Good luck to your team Dokie, but we just aren't going to see eye to eye on this one bud.

Since I deal in the business of facts -- here are facts to pimp out Mariota's system as to why he was so many TDS:

PAC 12 PASS defense rankings in D1 football (consisting of 128 teams):

    California -- 128th
    Washington St -- 126th
    Washington -- 124th
    Arizona -- 119th
Oregon -- 114th (just to show how inflated the PAC 12 really is and that Winston is absolutely going to shred the 114th overall pass defense)

    USC -- 110th
    Arizona State -- 107th
    Colorado -- 101st
    Oregon State -- 93rd
    Utah -- 90th
    UCLA -- 87th
    Stanford -- 7th

In no way, shape, or form did I mean that Winston is Aaron Rodgers... right now.

Do you take everything so literal?

Winston projects to an Aaron Rodgers QB. He is a prototypical pocket passing QB in the mold of Aaron Rodgers. Oh, and he is a higher rated prospect than Rodgers EVER was.

So why is that comparison so far off. I think Winston goes down on the Mount Rushmore of NFL QBs when his career is all said and done. He is a very special talent and a lot of the world refuses to believe and accept that because of thinly veiled racism against the athlete who single handedly toppled the SEC's invested interest in ESPN and the committee.

And the sexual assault ALLEGATION is a nonissue.

The only thing Winston is guilt of is cheating on his girlfriend at Rice University via a night of drinking and dancing with a coed infamous for dating and seeking football players. She only identified Winston MONTHS later when she realized she would not be enjoying his future millions with him when he went back to Bri at Rice.

I've read all 2000+ public documents on the matter and the facts support Winston. Just has further to do with the media feeding the country a narrative because Winston threatens the financial empire the SEC is and wants to be.

I'm right there with you in terms of JW5 skills/overall talent, but Aaron Rodgers really. I'm not saying meow, but life is like a box of chocolates, except for we know what we are going to get, which is not A Rod's level. You're better than that Dokie..

JW5 will be a long-term starter and eventual pro bowler I truly believe, but with all that said....Go Noles and let's worry about Nike U!

Which team will be sharp after a long layoff?

    That's the question.

Both teams absolutely need a good performance from their QBs.  If one is having trouble, it's all over.

If they played right now, I would take the Ducks.  GT left some receivers wide open for TDs.  The Ducks won't do that.

Alabama is not the 1 seed.

    FSU is.

Of course your right posting the past two years. Read the same crap on Florida sportsman from a guy circa 2008 - 2012 and he was always wrong. If you keep posting, you will be wrong too.

I actually think FSU wins too. But no way do I think like you do. Jameis is going to go in the second round, MAYBE.... He is Cam Newton ! A flash, can maybe read D's a little better, but doesn't have the same arm. All those Picks will double later...

It truely is amazing how a person can fall in love with a team and person like this. He is also the biggest TROUBLE out there and walking the campus like he owns it. FSU is the end all be all there and it is going to crash sooner or later...

Sad the way he acts, the way FSU has delayed his hearing, and football reigns above all. MONEY MONEY !

First off, there's no way you are an attorney... you couldn't have passed the LSAT or the Bar, based on the logical and rhetorical errors I see you make in every post... I assume you are a law student, based on your statement and the level of delusion you possess...

Second, dare does not simply mean "to challenge"... it means to challenge someone to have the "COURAGE" to beat him, as if there will be retribution or consequences if they do so... Nobody needs to be "dared" to beat FSU, because everyone who plays them is trying to do that... and there are no "CONSEQUENCES" for doing it!

The Pac 12 possesses 5 teams in the top 20 in passing offense (including #1 and #6), and another 4 are in the top 40... and the teams Oregon plays usually find themselves having to play catch up, so they are throwing the ball almost every down in the 2nd half...

Putting things into proper perspective (i.e. grading) is important when it comes to Offensive and Defensive rankings...

So let's take a look at the team with the 50th ranked Pass Defense, and 60th ranked Rushing defense, and put those into perspective:

The ACC has 2 teams in the top 20 in rushing offense, and 1 more in the top 40... they have 0 teams who are top 20 in passing offense, and only 1 in the top 40 in that category...

Outside of FSU, that is... since FSU doesn't have to play against themselves... and, in fact, the only team in the ACC that does have a respectable passing Offense (UNC at #24) was not on their schedule...

So, just like Oregon's passing defense is skewed... so is FSU's passing defense...

Not sure where someone thinks the Ducks have more speed than FSU???? FSU year in and year out finishes in the top of the rankings in recruiting bringing in way more elite athletes then Oregon as a whole! From top to bottom I promise you FSU is faster in team speed. Don't let a hurry up no huddle offense make you assume the whole team in blazing with speed just because their offense is up tempo??

PAC-12 doesn't produce defensive pros?  Haha ok.  Arguably the best CB and DT in the league laugh at you.

Wow, I'll tell all the NFL pros from USC they are better suited for the cfl instead of pro bowls

If you think the outcome of this game is going to be determined by a size difference, you've been drinking too much Bailey's out of a shoe...

If we're doing the whole conference debate, most neutral observers consider the PAC 12 to be the superior conference.

Now it's time to face a southern football team with southern recruits. FSU has bigger bodies. FSU has better athletes -- despite what the media wants you to think.

FSU is going to hit Oregon harder than they've been hit the last 4 years. Oregon will score, sure. But FSU will pull this game out and extend the lead late for a comfortable victory.

Does anyone know where this lead balloon went after all of this?

Yeah, he's probably locked in his basement watching rerun episodes of Duck Dynasty with the rest of the rednecks

that southern athlete comment was classic as if the pac12 teams have never competed against teams from the south, USC wiped the floor with those "southern" teams in the early to mid 2000's

Mr JOKE-ie has officially left the building & I don't blame him
