We see TCU defeating Virginia, who is getting alot more credit than they deserve.  Their potential loss is at Clemson.  They should coast to the MWC title, and have a very good chance at earning a BCS Bowl Birth.  1 loss seems about right, but 12-0 is easily within reach.

TCU will be able to put points on the board, but their defense will led the team,as it usually does.  They main problem on defense is their depth.  They are thin, and can ill afford injuries, especially along the front 7.

4 Coin Toss Games.. I think TCU will go 3-1 in those

not sure which ACC road game they Lose but I already predicted them to beat Clemson So I guess UVA

too high for frogs....ASSuming these are actual power rankings....NOT your prediction of where they will be ranked at start of season.....or where they will finish......(might/probably finish at around 15th)

not enough back.....6/4/2 + Qb + 3/5 OL + .........1/7 def (front 7)
including top 3 tacklers (240 tackles or so gone)
schedule not too challenging.....probably beat virg .....remember they will be installing a new offense......and might/probably have "new" qb....hall (1st start) or sewell (off last year)...won't beat clemson.....byu game will be VERY tough .....(Bronco hasn't lost home game in 3 years)   remember tough at home ....but Patterson 18-25-3 ATS on road
Frogs while awesome physically....make way too many mistakes....gift wrapped utah game LY (on neutral field tcu beats utah 6-7 times out of 10?)...(could) have beaten ou in norman.....3 long TD passes (200 yds worth) were difference + 4 tcu TO's and 12 penalties
barely beat boise despite almost doubling their Off stats (28-15 FD.....472-250 TO.....36-24 TOP )  ...AF..Wyo....SD St games won't be quite that easy
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

How can you evaluate a guy who has only thrown 58 passes in his collegiate career?  Logan grey IS NOT the best talent @ QB for Georgia.  Aaron Murray is hands down the best QB on the roster, he prob wont play as a true frosh, but he has way more talent than Logan Grey does.

I dont expect Georgia to run the SEC, and I dont expect them to beat Okie st.  I do know that you, like the rest of the bafoons in America, do not have a clue about Georgia.

I will bet you a dime right now that UGA/Okie st game doesn't go over 67 points also.

Tough to Call this game  ATS or Staight Up  ...

But I Love the Over if its between 56-61....

  • If the Goergia Defense Dominates it could be a Long day for Hunter and Co..f Ga Might run at will ??ll .. But then  again if the Cowboys get ahead early it might be Over and lead to tons of garbage Points ... Over ...Either Way I see 67+ Points Scored 69+ of the Time

I do not think this is a toughcall at all straight up.  No one loses 85% of it's offense and reloads.  Georgia has to rebuild.  As much as I would love to see Georgia win this game, Okie State is easy money straight up as of now.  As far as the spread goes, we will have to wait and see what the opening line is.

At Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia, plus Florida at home.  We can see 3-4 losses easily there.

i think many are .....
* overreacting to a team in 2008 > either under / over achieving
* practicing "selective memory"....(remembering only events that support your point)
example: LSU stunk yes.....betcha most thought ga tech would beat 'em in bowl  didn't ya ?  ......that was (essentially) ....LSU's 1st game in '09
LSU won 38-3 if you missed it.....lost great players yes > those didn't contribute anyway......(QB + RB + top WR .....+ 3/5 OL.....+ top 5 tacklers on D....including top pass rusher).....all return.....                      with return of  Scott, Black and La Fell .....and addition of DC Chavis........+ tons of talent on hand .....seems major reach to say there are 13 teams better at this point ....
know what you're thinking > that dumbass Les Miles can't coach and this is beginning of slide for Tigers....BAD NEWS (i'm not a LM fan either).........after this year we will be forced to admit that he (might) know WTF he's doing ....
* begin year with plenty of confidence...4-0 without breaking sweat....
then at georgia for revenge game  ....(off  @ ok st > s caro > @ ark > ariz st ) !........ they should win here
should lose to fla....
(might) lose to alabama....toss up for me ...alabama off  6 good "tests" already........... lsu only 2-3 or so (vandy or auburn at home not big test don't think)
* ol miss great story LY.......and they will be strong....don't see how you can PROJECT them to just simply pick up where they left off (2 1st rounders gone)........NOW expectations huge......tigers win TOUGH revenge game ....(probably)
10-2 probable > 11-1 best case........no worse than 9-3......ain't gonna lose BB years to ga, ala, ol miss AND  fla.........

Rank               PSR
14      LSU        73.5

QB   Great Depth of Inexperienced  QB's with some Excellent Talent... Jordan Jefferson should start the year at #1 , played well/great in the Bowl Game and game vs Arkansas...
Jarrett Lee is trying to steal back his Job ,... Lee might end up 3rd on the depth chart by years end ......
Russell Sheppard True Fresh Super recruit Might be used in Wild Cat type Formations ...

RB   Charles Scott should have another Monster year after 1174 (5.4 YPC)  18 TD's in 2008
LSU always has 4+ RB's in the Fold
Keiland Williams  5.0 YPC and 11 Catches in 2008...
Richard Murphy
and Super recruit Drayton Clahoun

WR Brandon Lafell had 8TD's and 929Yards Rec. even with the Rotating QB's ...
Richard Dickson is an excellent Option at TE...
Terrance Tolliver should be the #2
Trindon Holliday still plays some WR although he only had 2 catches last year...
Chris Mitchell should alos contribute as well
Other than Lafell LSU will need another WR to step up on 3rd downs ...

O-Line     Lucky Ciron Black choose to come back for his SR. year and he will be one of the Best LT's in the NCAA ,IMO...
Must replace C and LG...
Some good recruits over the last 2 years...Nice Depth ?
Really the Key to the Offense  .. Must Keep foes out of the Backfield in the Big games ...

LSU was a unheard of 9th in Defense in the SEC in 2008

D Line
Hit Hard   BUT.....
Rahim Alem is the only returning Lineman  and he should be a Stud DE in 2009...
Drake Nevis will start at DT : who Glenn Dorsey said would be the Next great DT at LSU
Chase Clement could  have a breakout year in 2009..
Pep Levingston starts at the Other DE spot and looks good so far in the Spring ...

OLB
New DC John Chavis has Speedy LB's that should fit his system really well
Jacob Cutrea,Perry Riley, and Kelvin Sheppard
Harry Coleman moves from Safety to OLB ...

Secondary
alot will depend on the D-Line
Loads of Talent
Can only be better than Last year

The SEC part of the schedule is Brutal....
Alot will Depend on the Defense ... it's reloading but is it good enough to Win on the Road in the Very Tuff SEC ???
Love John Chavis coming from Tennessee to be the DC...
I am not a Fan of Les Miles in Tight Ball games

LSU Schedule              Win/Loss Margin
at Washington                  W24+
Vanderbilt                        W24+
ULL                                  W37+
at Miss. St.                       W21+
at Georgia                         W3+
Florida                             L13+
Auburn                            W10+
Tulane                             W34+
at Alabama                      L14+
La Tech                            W30+
at Ole Miss                       L7+
Arkansas                          W9+

                                         9-3

alot will depend on the D-Line
Loads of Talent
Can only be better than Last year

The SEC part of the schedule is Brutal....
Alot will Depend on the Defense ... it's reloading but is it good enough to Win on the Road in the Very Tuff SEC ???
Love John Chavis coming from Tennessee to be the DC...
I am not a Fan of Les Miles in Tight Ball games

#13 in my Rankings will be

Oklahoma St.  73.5

The Offense should put up Insane Sizzling Numbers in 2009!!!!

Do they play any Defense in Stillwater ???
We shall find out in Week 1 vs Georgia ...

The Schedule other than 3 Games is

2 things make it tough call.......
1) ok st good at home......but ...REACH  to call them top team (seem them ranked as high as # 5...... .SHOULD be i agree......LY  (one of best ever).....lined up against 5 good teams and lost 4 !!!!!!!!!  ...(turns out mizz not really very good ).. bowl loss followed up with very mediocre recruiting class.....they have proven they have talent  and that's it..... GUNDY has proven skilled PLAYING  QB....and ability to publically humiliate young sophmoric female reporter > won't transfer here
2) uh oh ....can you name top road coach in America ?,,,,,gotta be Richt  (31-4 or so SU in true road games).....also top 5 would think in getting team ready for non conf games (34-3 SU ).....believe ONLY  reg season loss to ga tech in '08 ....
* matchup appears to favor okie st no doubt.......wouldn't be too eager..
despite tons of injuries.(played 24 freshman )...murderous schedule.....huge expectations (gotta factor letdown)  still finished 10-3......with stars no doubt playing (late)  with huge NFL  contract in back of minds....

I can see LSU at 9-3, or 10-2, or 8-4.  I think they may hang with Alabama and could pull an upset.  LSU does well against Alabama, and has not lost there since 1999.  With 'Bama thin at QB, it could be a close game.  By the same token, LSU could easily lose to Georgia in Athens.  This is a very tough team to figure out, because they are being hyped so much in Baton Rouge and by the press.  They may be a good fade against Florida and then later on in the year.  I really do not like teams with 2 QB systems, and LSU will have one this year.

2 QB system ? ........don't think so BD
"JJ is has certainly taken the lead .....and is making strong case to be the starter".........< les miles
looks like JJ is clear cut starter / leader .......team lost confidence in Lee.....if you mean Shepherd (started for purple team in spring game......and looked sharp)....he will be used at rec/rb.......probable situational stuff at QB........as he is supposedly tremendous talent

Rank                    PSR
13   Oklahoma St.  73.5

The Offense is loaded with 8 Starters returning ...
this is the Most prolific Offense in Oklahoma St. history (488 yards per game last year and things should be even better this season... Of the 530 Points scored last year 512 return in 2009..

QB Zac Robinson is back after  3064 65%  25 TD's and 10 INts and was only sacked 16 times in 314 attempts...
Zac also Rushed for 562 Yards and 8 TD's
I hope he Puts up Insane Numbers and leads the Cowboys to a Voctory over either Oklahoma or Texas or both ...

RB Kendall Hunter rushed for 1,555 Yards 17 Total TD's and caugh 22 balls as well ..
Keith Tolston would be a Clear cut RB on many teams 6.7 YPC....
Beau Johnson returns as well ...
The Cowboys rushing attack was 6th in the Nation in 2008...

WR   Will need someone other than DEZ to step up...
Dez Bryant had 87 Catches for 1480 and 19 TD's..
Davis and Bowling might both be dismissed from the team
Josh Cooper should have a breakout year in his So. Season..
Demarcus Conner should also show up ..

OL    3-5th returns
this Unit has paved for the Monster Numbers the Cowboys Offense has put up..
Stud  Russell Okung is coming back despite likely being a 1st round Pick at OT...

The Defense returns 6 Starters...
Hired a Good DC away from Miami,, Bill Young
9 of the top 12 Tacklers return ///
I Have almost  zero confidence in this Defense

DL
Both Starting DT's are gone , but so what it's not like they were that good anyways ...

LB
everyone returns and it goes with out saying this is the Strength of the Defsens

Secondary
3 out of 4 are gone
Cox returns and will need to stay on the field ...
alot will depend on what the Front 7 can do...

I think Sheppard will be used more in the Wild Cat formation and Jefferson will be the real QB...

LSU should be better than last year but the SEC is even better this year as well... 3-4 Losses seems really likely

As far as Okie State goes, 10-2 cetainly seems about right.  I think they beat Georgia a bit more easily than you predict.  They could beat Texas at home also.  The schedule is very easy.  The possible let down games are all at home.  Okie State knows that this is basically do or die for them this year.  11-1 is quite possible.
