It seems to me that Syracuse couldn't stop anyone last year and I don't think they will be able to again.
Minny had a pretty decent offense last year and they return their QB and top receiver.
Minny had the 2nd worst passing defense in the Big Ten last year and lost their 3rd leading tackler (safety) to academic issues and may be starting 2 freshmen in the defensive backfield.
Both programs have different coaches - Syracuse with a brand new system and QB (the turnover prone Duke PG Paulus...LOL) and Minny with new defensive and offensive coordinators....which will mean both teams probably won't be able to adjust until the 2nd quarter or halftime.
It also seems Minny is not being very well respected in the polls or preseason picks and Brewster will want to pile the points on if possible....and Weber will want to keep his job from the highly touted freshman Brewster recruited....so he will want to impress.
You figure Syracuse will try to throw the football with Pualus with his history as a great spread QB in HS....
Also - the game is at the Carrier Dome....weather won't be a factor...and you figure the 'Cuse will try to continue to put up points in the 4th quarter if they are behind....
I think all of this adds up to a 42-28 Minny victory....and the total flies over....but then again....what do I know.....
I'm looking for comments.....
I'm thinking about dropping a LOAD on this total.....

Does anyone else think this total is low at 47?

I think Minny -6.5 is the play here, hard to see a Cuse team full of scrubs with Greg Fucking Paulus at QB keeping it close with a Big Ten team that should be bowl eligible.
