as my English colleague's would say.......this is a cheeky match up here with UVa and Auburn. So here's my take. I think there is plenty of room for Virginia to have success against Auburn. Defensively, Roof will not be on the sideline for D that ranks 77th in the nation. Offensively, Mahlzan will give his swan song, but Dyer won't be there to help what ever QB starts for Auburn. Reports are Kiehl Frazier has been getting a ton of snaps in practice, given the inconsistency at the position all year I can see that, but Chizik wants to get a look at what he has for 2012, i'll take it, if he wants to put a lab rat at QB and see what he has, it definitely can't hurt a bet on UVA, unless the kid is superman, but if he was, he would have been playing already. So that offense is going against UVa's 29th ranked D! Auburns offense is ranked 105th. !!!! call me crazy but I think UVa has the advantage there. London is a guy that players would die for, I have no doubt they will be focused and ready to leave every bit of effort they have out on the field. Auburn is in a pre-New Years bowl after a Championship with poorly ranked units on the both sides of the ball and questions offensively, I know they play in the SEC, but Auburn has had plenty of chances to get it together on both sides of the ball. UVA will be very motivated and out to prove something after the hokies game got away from them and they were embarassed yet again by my hokies, haha. Auburn isn't as stout up front as other SEC teams, so UVa's road grading rushing attack should be able to move the ball. The key will be for Rocco to play mistake free. including last year’s win in
the BCS Championship, Auburn is 4-0 in its last four bowls and the
outcome was decided by three points each time.
Ironically, Virginia’s last three bowl games were decided by
exactly three points as well. The Cavs are 1-2 SU and 2-1 ATS with the
last postseason battle in 2007.
UVA +3.5 (-130)
