I agree, Boom. I believe they will lose at least two games, and two losses puts them OUT of the national title game. Period.

I think they will lose to either Miami or FSU (or both), and lose at least one and probably two in the SEC.

It's an ok bet if you like lotto, that's it.

Florida has a very difficult schedule, so they could very well lose two games.  As I said, their season essentially boils down to 3 scare games: @ LSU, @ South Carolina and Florida State.  They could certainly lose two of those.  In fact I could see a scenario where they may lose 3 games.

They could lose two games, win the SEC East, and then lose the SEC Championship game.

Of course Florida is a long shot to the national championship game.  Aside form Alabama, it's an extremely long shot for anyone to win the BCS Championship.  What team has a better shot than Florida???  The only other teams I could see giving Alabama any trouble whatsoever in a BCS Championship Game is maybe Florida State or Clemson, and I really don't think either of them would beat Alabama this season.  Unlike almost every other team in the college football, Florida can actually line up and play with Alabama.

I think Florida has virtually no shot of winning the BCS Championship, which is exactly why I won't make that bet.  But because Florida has the combination of coaching and overall talent, they represent the country's best hope of preventing an Alabama 3-peat IMO.  So if I were going to bet on a long shot (something I never really do because I don't think it's wise), Florida would get my money.

I'm very bullish on Miami this season, and the Florida game is their Super Bowl.  It's the game they need to win to elevate their program back to national prominence in the eyes of the nation and Florida recruits.  They need this win to retain the Amari Coopers of South Florida, so I expect them to play with great effort and hang tough for a while.  At the end of the day however, Miami is simply not ready to compete with Florida at the point of attack on either side of the ball.  Florida should win the game by DD.

That said, if you really like Miami, bet them in the first half.  That is a bet I could definitely see cashing.

Before I answer the question... I want to know if you are saying that they will have a good offense...

I know what the offense has... I want to hear what you are gonna say first

as far as the Miami goes.... Miami will have a very explosive offense.

But that defense might be the problem as it was last season.... Cant really say if they have improved much...I would say no tho

Florida often played better in the second half in their big tough games like against Texas A&M and FSU last year. They almost beat Georgia (who almost beat Alabama in the SEC championship game) in the second half, but their best receiver (tight end Jordan Reed) dropped a perfect pass at the goal line.

Florida came within a dropped easy pass of playing in the SEC championship last year, where they might have beat Alabama to play an over-rated Notre Dame team for the NC.

And this with an admittedly terrible offense.

Going into this season, when I take into account all of the Alabama variables, talent, coaching, schedule, etc., this is the most confident I have ever been that no one will beat Alabama this season.  But hey, things rarely go as planned.  What if Auburn knocks out AJ McCarron with a season-ending injury in the last game of the regular season, and Alabama has to play Florida or South Carolina with a backup QB???  Something like that could change everything.

Another way to go about it is to take the opposite approach and bet on a non-SEC team.  That's the approach most people seem to take.  I don't favor that approach because I have very little confidence that a non-SEC team can beat the SEC Champion.  Therefore, if one was inclined to make an educated guess, I would recommend they bet the team that they think will win the SEC East.  IMO the East will come down to the winner of the Florida @ South Carolina game on November 16th.

The demarcus Robinson kid is really good....We almost had him. Was actually committed to us at one point.

The RB position might be ok....Taylor will be good in time.

The OL is OK at best.

Think Florida's offense will be better than last years but by a marginal amount. They will look like a middle of the pack FBS team offensively but likely be in the top 3 defensively. The grit,coaching and athleticism will carry this team to a minimum 9 wins. One prediction site (Payne ratings) has Florida at 8.19 wins and 3.81 losses but I think it goes over this prediction.


It could easily come down to Alabama being the only team in FL's way on the road to the NCG but all the scheduling roadblocks are a huge concern.

In case anyone is interested the site also predicts a 29% chance Alabama goes undefeated and 28.5% chance Oregon goes undefeated.
