I know it brings a little extra joy bringing home the bacon at the expense of a hated rival, or in this case, rival and chance to become the #1 team in the country..........

Jimmy, I know you got good info; and for some reason, people are starting threads with this game as their GOY, but why? Wouldn't you want something that is a little more of a "sure thing"? (which don't exist). But if you know something, have an angle, a lean, weather report, suspensions, etc., by all means, go for it. Just don't do something stupid and bet a ton of money that you have worked so hard for.

    Bet smart, my friends

I understand what you're saying Hawk, but I do not bet with my heart, and I've never proclaimed this to be my GOY.  I have bet against Bama 3 times this year (Florida International, South Carolina & Auburn 1st half (although I lost my Bama game bet)).  So I'm not at all opposed to betting against the Tide if I feel the situation warrants it.  Nevertheless, I have placed a max bet on Bama (call it 10 Units) in this game.

While I don't pretend for a second that Clemson or Georgia is in the same class as Florida, for me this bet is very similar to those games last year.  In all of these games Bama was a 3 - 7 point underdog.  In all of these games, very few people gave Bama much of a chance to win.  In all of these games I placed a 10 Unit bet on Bama, and in all of these games I boldly predicted that Bama would comfortably win the game straight-up.

Now I'm sure there will be many people who will come on here and say how they knew Bama would win those games last year, but I can tell you, believers were far and few between.

In the Clemson game, Bama was coming off of a dismal 7 & 6 season, and was opening against the #6 team in the nation.

In the Georgia game, the Dawgs were predicted by many to win the national championship, and the game was being played in front of a "Blackout" home crowd.

In my threads for those two games, I was called an idiot, a homer and everything in between.  In both threads I said Bama would win the games convincingly.  In both threads I begged people not to bet on Clemson and Georgia.

So were my 10 Unit bets in those games foolish bets?  Of course in hindsight the answer is evident.  But for me, this game is exactly like those games in that the team I am very certain will win the game is getting points, and this is exactly the type of betting situation I shop for on a weekly basis.

While I acknowledge that all bets are inherently risky, and while to many this appears to be a very risky bet, to me it is an extremely solid play.

I guess come Saturday night I'll either look like a genius or a sucker.

    jimmy,

If you knew UA only worked on AU for 3.5 days, why would you be so sure of Bama last week?

You are correct Mr. AlphaDog sir.  This should be an easy Bama cover just as it was last year!!!

    "

Not trying to start shit, just asking.

Obviusly in hindsight it wasn't a smart bet Trackem.  I bet Auburn 1st half because I thought it would be close at half, but I still lost  because of the Bama game play.

The basis of my play was that I felt Auburn would probably not score more than 10 points in the game.

Nevertheless, I have never used the disparity in preparation time as an excuse, I was simply pointing out that there was a disparity.

I personally am sick of seeing people drinking the kool aid on Bama. Florida wins this game. Ingram was soft against Auburn....Macelroy is better than people think but he is gonna have to lead this team to victory over a better team. Have some balls people and take the Florida money line...Best bet for the weekend!

I will say this one more time, Bama WILL win this game, and they will probably do so in convincing fashion.  And for God's sake, please don't aggravate your losses by betting the Gators on the ML.

.........and getting back to my Ingram comment, Bama may have some other great backs, but none of them have been mentioned for the Heisman........

I wish there weren't suspension, and Ingram was 100%. You want that in a game of this magnitude, so nobody can play the "what if" game, but you can't always get what you want.

Florida is an exceptional team in every phase of the game.  I won't argue that point.  However, many people will bet on Florida based on the results of last week's games, and that is a very big mistake IMHO.

I will also tell you that Bama has saved a number of offensive wrinkles specifically for this game.  Expect to be surprised.

Saban will have this team extremely well prepared for this game, and I am extremely confident they'll win.

Just as Urban Meyer will have plays he saved. We could argue this back and forth all day...

Thats why they play the game.

Ingram will be 100% or very close to it.

I agree.  As a fan I would love to see both heavyweights go at it at full strength.

You could be right, but everything I'm hearing is that he'll be fine.  I'll know for sure Friday evening.

The mark ingram you see on saturday will be the same mark ingram you have seen all season long. if he doesnt have a big day, its not because hes hurt, but because florida stopped him. people that dont follow bama closely usually dont realize that trent is just as talented as mark and there is very little drop off when he enters the game.
