SC ran the ball well vs NEBRASKA, then tried to open up a short pass control game at WASH--it wasn't there.
The coaching staff thought the game at dismal STANFORD was a gimee, so they tries to win with style once again--and again, it wasn't there.
The team prepared for WASH well--Coach P Carrol was in the papers quoted as saying "We are focusing on protecting the ball; we want to keep down on our mistakes, and play our best FB" Well, his players weren't listening for 2 weeks. Az is not a gimmee.
I feel that SC does not have a QB right now. And Az can shut down the run.
I see the 3rd week in a row that SC does not cover a large spread. I see the team questioning the direction--the move away from Tailback U philosophy. It could be Coach's last yr at SC.
Prefer Az and the points, and a small ML wager on the Wildcats

mr picky, what do you know of mark sanchez... I saw Sanchez play high school ball alot. a few years back and you better pray Carroll reinvented to wheel to improve his skills cuz he was horrid.

Until USC shows us something on the field you have to take the 21 points. Team chemistry is their biggest problem. To many High School superstars who think there shit don't stink. Have probably never been told no in their lives until they've reached this level. You just can't turn it off and on again. Teams are looking to do what ever it takes to knock you off. I would love to see USC roll big, but I'm sorry, If I decide to play this game, I'm taking the 21 points.

Agreed! Taking the points on this game guys. The last game I was right about USC not covering the 41+ points they were favored, but I would have NEVER imagined them losing.
Mark Sanchez is a great quarterback, but expect him to make mistakes...

I'm a U of A grad. I have played them every game this year which has resulted in a 1-4 ATS. Fortunately I recovered w/2nd half bets.
I already bought USC @ -20.5. This sets up the perfect situation for a Zona cover. Homer bet for 6 weeks - get worked - bet against and whadyaknow. USC 30 AZ 24.
I win here could save Stoops job. It's pretty ballzy to go against SC after the train wreck, but they may actually not be what everyone thought. Nebraska has turned out to be a pile of crap. They barely escaped UW. Idaho was a turd.. I may buy back AZ @ +21.5.....but then that screws up the homer theory. hmmm

USC will now get sanctioned heavy, thanks to solid evidence showing that USC gave over $240,000 to recruit and retain Reggie Bush (and keep him "happy").
Carrol has been rumored to be in his last season at SC.
Booty failed in two attempts to get the offense going, "like a machine", something thewy need to beat the big boys, and keep the opposing offenses off the field.
There appears to be a crisis of leadership at SC.
They are about to get sanctioned. Theyre going to lose recruits.
They just lost stupidly, at home, embarrased by a frosh QB.
And I cannot buy the fact that they are focused on AU.

Problem for most bettors (and I understand it completely) is that it's FUCKIN hard to put your hard assed earned money on a team giving up 30 points a game...It was even fucking harder to put anything on STANFORD, even at +41
Hard earned money doesn't allow you to think, that maybe afetr 4 or 5 games at full speed, with good coaching, that perhaps a team can put everything together and win as a huge underdog, catching a giant asleep at the wheel.
Case in point, Stanford, or UCLA...
AND...has USC even shown any ability to bury the bottom cellar dwellers in the PAC 10??? Their performance (if you can call it that) vs WASH and STANFORD, was appalling and shocking.
This 3rd string FROSH QB was bigger than Vince Youngs little scramble a few years ago, that snatched away the last real attempt thety may have in years to come...
NCAA WILL come down hard on SC. I predict this year they will be banned, certainly next (following a pattern: You win the Championship, sanctions will soon follow).

First of all, EVERY year is "rumored" to be Caroll's last year at SC. Second of all, USC didn't give anything to Reggie Bush but the ball and a full ride.
Sanchez was "horrid" in high school? I've officially heard it all.
That being said, I wouldn't lay 3 touchdowns on this team right now. O line is beyond beat up, not ONE of these highly touted receivers has done anything. Especially Patrick Turner, who has T.O.'s body and Rashee Caldwell's hands. Special teams have been awful. Desmond Reed used to be like a mini Reggie until fat Charlie Weis AKA Mr. Overrated grew a jungle on the field in South Bend, now all Dez does is catch the punt/kickoff and go down when someone blows on him. Sanchez is a MUCH better athlete than Booty, but 3 TD's? Arizona has hung around in these games the last 2 years.

But, just to be sure, I have thought about this game all fucking week, and I'm proud to say I have the best bet possible.
1st H Arizona...anywhere from +8 to +10.5 is solid.
USC ALWAYS plays slow to get going, for years under Carrol. Combine that with the road team angle of having to 'prove' something early + you have to give the Arizona team a shot at staying close, esp. now after 5 games at full speed with good coaching...
If 'SC blows it open, it will be late, when their athleticism and big play making ability takes affect and wears down Arizona...but not early.
ALSO, you have a new QB in there, and there has to be negative rhythm, maybe a turnover...
ARizona's best chance is to play hard early...
This is the best way to approach the game. A 2nd H wager to be determined on 'SC's 'look', see if theyre signs of life in the offense...
