1* Michigan St Spartans -13.5
Nick Martinelli is the only person on this Wildcats team that strikes fear into the opposition and that's due to how versatile he is. But this Sparty defense should swallow him up. Izzo will have a game plan that centers around him, and will force the other guys to beat them. Which isn't gonna happen. Sparty has been as impressive just about anyone so far. Fears is a top notch PG, Carr is a freak athlete, the two bigs that defend and rebound so well. They will be a tough out come tourney time.
3* Liberty Flames -4.5
This will be the best team the La Tech Bulldogs have played this year. Maybe Nevada, but that was in their opener. Three of their eight wins are vs DII schools, and have an atrocious offense. Liberty does not however. They have the 10th most efficient offense in the country. It's slow, and methodical and their shooting percentages are very high. I don't know how the Bulldogs can keep this game in the single digits with that offense.
1* Florida Gulf Coast Eagles -3.5
Austin Peay hasn't played a road game since Dec 7th. They haven't won a road game since Nov. 15, losing their last four roadies. Their offense is their weakness, and it's a glaring one. They don't make jump shots. At all. FGCU comes back home for the first time in the new year, and bring a top 100 offense to the table. They shoot the 3 very well, and get quite a few up. I'd imagine being back at home only amplifies those factors.
1* Northern Colorado Bears -4.5
The Bears have dropped 4 of 5, with the sole win being @ Colorado. But now they return home have dropping both Montana games, so should have a little extra "want to" tonight. Idaho St on the other hand hasn't played a road game since December 10th, and now have to go play in elevation which isn't an easy ask.
1* Western Kentucky Hilltoppers +2.5
The Toppers just swept their latest homestand, and now head to Las Cruces to face the Aggies. We've faded the Aggies in their last two games due to the terrible travel they had to endure. Well even though it was traveling home, it was still a hell of a week for these guys, flying across the country and back. If this was a Delaware or a UTEP, I wouldn't be concerned with how the Aggies would respond, but they are going to get a very formidable opponent tonight, that starts 3 seniors. I think the Toppers win this game.
2* San Diego Toreros -4.5
The Toreros are coming home from their toughest three game stretch of the season. Took the Zags to the wire @ home, then went to San Fran and Santa Clara, and lost both. But they come home, healthy, and get a not very good Waves team, that is playing their 3rd straight roadie in a week. Their offense is bad, and it will be worse tonight given the circumstances. Ty-Laur Johnson is about to have himself a night.
1* Seattle Redhawks -4.5
I don't love that this the Hawks third straight road game, but their last two were vs the top two in the conference, and their more than held their own. Now they take a big step back in competition. Oregon St doesn't have much of a home court to worry about either. Seattle can really defend and defense travels. If this wasn't the third leg of a road trip, this would probably be a 3* play.
