to those of you who are bashing the guy for not hedging did you ever realize this kid is a 22 year old student and may not have 12 k to hedge bet or even 2k???

i love the survivor contest but i rarely play it because im busy placing real money bets with that said i have tried and it is very hard you click away on a whim or you study your ass off searching to get hot day after day, actually i start to take survivor serious when my accounts are emptied and im bust its a pipe dream

also on hedging if i made it that far i most likely would not have 12k to hedge and if i did there isnt any info on how long you have to wait for check or how they pay you, so if i were to place 3k bet w/local or borrow money to hedge i would have to tell lender or bookie how long they would have to wait to get paid this is probably part or main reason the kid didnt hedge

as for the pk before hand i had big fsu 1sth bets w/under, with the feeling nd would come back in 2ndh, after i saw smiths play i figured he has a handle on game and w/dogs coming in all day i felt the irish may be in good spot,i knew the intensity of fsu de usually causes teams to start slow, but i really thought nd would come out in 2ndh and win

i agree that whitesmith shoulda stuck to what got him there totals he had very few side plays during streak, i do the same thing  i SUCK at totals but i still bet them

$100,000 is a nice amount of money, but it cracks me up how Covers has the pic of the Rolls Royce, Jet, & Yacht with the caption "Live The Dream". Too funny. A pic of a guy making it rain at the Strip Club or a pic of a Range Rover would have been more realistic.

Just start with $1.00 keep doubling your winnings  after 15 wins you got 65k after 20 wins it will be  1.4 million if you got a book that will take a 10 cent wager a 20 time rollover would equate to 104k actually I didn't factor in juice but still  what this guy did was very very hard to do so big time props to him

I am from Canada and would just like to know if you Americans don't mind......Could this kid have rolled up to a vegas casino if he did have 12.5k and make the straight wager on Flst? If so then yes that is his problem and he really should have seeked financial help form family or some sort of bank loan even if not in his name but his parents. He would have had a full week to ensure whoever he picked he would have won.

At the same time as stupid as I think that play is in normal common sense this guys nailes off this many picks and there should never be a question of who he picked in the end. That part is hilarious that anyone questions that one. I bet many people would have questioned plenty of games throughout his streak it's just this one is magnified.

well since this thread took off (thank you papashango for spreading the word), i figured i'd put my last thought in on this pick and the whole streak in general.

no i did not hedge the bet at all. there were several reasons behind it, but bottom line is i didn't, i'm not mad that i didn't, if i'm in the same spot again i won't hedge then either, and for those of you that don't like that i couldn't give a shit.

also, for the people that question the pick, i'd make the exact same pick again if the teams played. fsu was a far inferior team that got hot from 3 on the right night and notre dame couldn't make an open shot or layup the whole time. could kinda tell when the 80%+ free throw shooter in hansborough almost airballed his first shot from the line, and i don't think i heard abromaitis' name the entire night while i was actually watching.

i appreciate the support along the way from the people that were behind me the whole way, and sorry for those that tailed on that last pick and lost money.
