With the way CUSE is playing im trying to figure out why they are now laying more.

Here is my take on this game. I personally think if there is a game in this entire tourney that CUSE will get a scare this is the one.

Butlers ability on the outside to hit shots should be a major concern. Not only that but they have a handful of guys that will limit turnovers when passing the ball around and through the zone. Im not really worried about the inside game of Butler in this one as there abilty to move the ball around without turning it over should wear down this zone and find holes for easy baskets. If they can get to the line often and early also could be a major factor in this one too.

On the other Butler plays very disciplined defensively something that has put their name where it is these last several years. They dont try to overdue things. They are very simple and to the point. Something athletic teams do not like to play against. Look at UTEP for example they are big, athletic, and play with a lot of chaos such as CUSE but no where near the talent CUSE has but still a good example. We saw how smart and discipline basketball paid off.

I also strongly believe that heading to Indianapolis is a huge motivation for Butler and has been since the start of the season. I think CUSE's hot play in the first 2 rounds is the worst thing that could have happened to them. I understand they have been there for awhile but traveling cross country after great offensive showing is only going to hurt this team. I think we see them very sluggish going against a team that has been a giant killer over the recent years. They know what to do so this is not a new role to this Bulldog group.

GL UNC, and I agree with you that the mismatch in this game will be Butler's perimeter players. I'm actually very anxious to see how hayward plays tonight. He's a big time player that does everything and has a chance to really make a name for himself.

I'll take the team that has won 20 straight and is grabbing 6 points.

I have to agree with the fact that Butler plays the keep it simple style but using Utep or anyone else from Conference USA as an example is a poor choice.  As we witnessed in the tournament games played so far, that conference is one of the weakest yet most over rated conferences in the country.  Not saying that the way you're looking at this game is wrong, because I kind of agree too a point.  Just saying that any team from Conference USA is very beatable as we all just witnessed.  Attended a game at U Mass earlier in the year and saw U mass take the game right to Memphis in old Doctor J uniforms and just made some cash fading all those bums in that conference. As usual your perspective on a game is a little different but concise, and I wish you well on this one and for the remainder of tournament play.  BOL

UNC, I look forward to your response at 9'30EST when Butler has officially lost by DD's....Mid major size and skill please....this team beat the University of Detroit in a last second thriller this year...Cuse is a long way from the Horizon league brother.....and Butler knows how to get it done? Since when...all they do is win the Horizon league year after year and then get it handed to them in mid March.

This is their chance--both of them--to play these teams when it all counts. It's impossible to get on their schedules because they all want revenue or cupcakes to pad their wins. Mid-majors that are well coached will usu. make the most of their chances, ie cover the point spread. It will be hard to gain seperation, on a neutral court, or a crowd that favors the underdog. Skill can not take over the game alone--there is a shot clock, and coaching, and poise, and other determinants.

Xavier and Wash are not mid-majors, but are also live dogs.

    I'm looking at favs tomorrow.

I think Cuse might have the 6 pt lead at the break, but I will watch them, since I missed too many games of both of these. watch out though if Butler gets the lead late.

Hey, if that garbage of a team Louisville can beat Cuse twice then Butler certainly can beat them once.

I'll take the team that has won 20 straight and is grabbing 6 points.

    Butler 58 Syracuse 54

4 point win, like I said.

the only thing I'm pised about is that I hedged some of my Butler ML play at the half.
