1* 146-148
2* 29-31
3* 7-8
4* 1-1
5* 1-1
Yesterday wasn't any fun.
1* North Carolina Central Eagles -2.5
The Eagles haven't played in over two weeks, so there is always the rust factor, but Coach Moton has been around the block at time or two, and knows how to be sure his guys stayed sharp during the long break. They have seniors everywhere, and one of the best true PGs you've probably never heard of in Dionte Johnson. He shares the ball very well, great on ball defender, and shoots free throws well above average. But Khouri Carvey is the difference maker. He's a monster on the offensive glass, and earns plenty of trips to the foul line. No travel, and the game being pushed up for weather purposes, only favors the home team I think.
1* Florida A&M/Alabama St Under 141.5
Historically, this game is a rock fight. This is Charlie Wards first year at A&M, but since conference play has started, they carry the best defense in the league. Bama St brings in the second worse offense in conference play too. So that's a good combo. The Rattlers offense has been held under 70 points in 4 straight, but have held their opponents to 72 or under in 6 straight. Both teams have dropped two straight, so you should see a fairly spirited effort.
1* Syracuse/North Carolina Over 157.5
This number has already jumped 5 points at some books. UNC can't stop anyone right now, and they almost certainly have their thoughts on Saturday when they host the Dukies, so there should be ample opportunity for the Orange scorers to get theirs. I see a 90-80 kinda game with UNC able to open it up late.
1* Northwestern State Demons +1.5
The Demons are returning home from a 4 game roadie, where they dropped all four. However, they have won their last three games played on their home floor. Nicholls escaped the first meeting in Thibodaux, but I'll take the Demons to get revenge in Natchitoches this evening. Nicholls also has a big one on deck with TAM-CC for third place in the conference.
1* Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks +1.5
I know KU and Tech play tonight, but this is probably the best game of the night in my opinion. The first meeting @ McNeese was won by the Cowboys by a bucket, and I expect this game to come down to a final possession as well, and the home team coming out the victor. Revenge spot, and a chance go up two games in the standings on McNeese. This is a huge game, and the Johnson Coliseum will be rockin.
1* Tennessee State Tigers -7.5
This game was played @ Tech when the calendar flipped, and State won by 12. They are in the thick of the race at the top of the OVC, and could pull even with Martin with a win. They have the best offense in the conference in nearly every metric available, while Tech defense has been swiss cheese. Tech also just won their second game of the calendar year, so regression is expected. Tigers by double digits.
