My boys are on a roll and look to take home the NIT title. They face SMU in tonight Semi-Final with the chance to take on the Minnesota-FSU winner.
Let's look inside the numbers shall we:
Clemson is 4-0 ATS in tournament semi-final games since '97. Clemson is 12-4 SU in NIT Tournament games since '97. Clemson is 3-1 ATS in Neutral court games this year. Clemson is 38-23 with 5-6 days rest between games since '97.
SMU is 0-2 ATS in tournament semi-final games since '97. SMU is 15-29 ATS in tournament games since '97. SMU is 3-11 ATS over the last three years, and 9-27 since '97 in neutral court games. SMU is 19-26 with 5-6 days rest between games since '97.
Larry Brown definitely has the coaching experience over Brownell in this spot. However, I feel the Tigers have beaten and played better competition in the ACC than has SMU in the AAC. Both teams play great defense and force turnovers.
Only one team has a dominant player that will shine on the biggest of stages- K.J. McDaniels of Clemson.

Can I hear some more stats from the late 1990's on both of these teams, should be really beneficial to any capping that remains to be done on this game

GL with your play. I was leaning SMU but decided not to play the game. But, I believe if Clemson wins the game will be in the 50's. I believe the best play on the board is Under 119.5. Look at the number of possessions Clemson allows its opponents. If this goes over they will need to both shoot plus 50% from field..don't see it happening. GL

The first post arent bad stats I dont know why people are complaining, at least this post has stats and some reasoning unlike 99% of the posts on here.I want to know how teams do on neutral courts, how seriously they take the nit historically etc
"Clemson is 12-4 SU in NIT Tournament games since '97. Clemson is 3-1 ATS in Neutral court games this year
SMU is 3-11 ATS over the last three years, and 9-27 since '97 in neutral court games"
Clemson is playing great ball since the start of March with a 6-2 SU record , with those two losses coming to Pittsburgh and Duke by a combined six points and the best player on the court.
