(As you would vs. a man to man defense) In otherwords also, you cannot attempt to attack the zone by standing around against the zone. If it’s a 2-1-2, you’re offense could be a 1-3-1 set.If it’s a 2-3 Zone, then you may start with a 3-2 set, and then shift 2 or 3 players, to open spots BEHIND THE ZONE or IN FRONT OF THE ZONE inside or outside of the Zone to make the Zone move. EVEN IF YOU SEND A CUTTER LOOKING FOR A PASS THROUGH THE ZONE, TO WATCH HOW THE ZONE WILL COLLAPSE. I.E. MOVEMENT WITHOUT THE BALL. THIS WILL CREATE GAPS IN THE ZONE!! THEN ATTACK THE GAPS!Then you must havetandem teammate(s) movement to the open spot, or offensive rebounding spot, once you’ve occupied the interior zone defenders.
#3. DISTORT THE ZONE. Make the zone shift by moving offensive players to different spots, (elbow, high posts, low posts, mid-post *Corners, short corners. Then using angle passes and bounces passes. Fake Passes and shots and watch how the zone reacts, from different spots on the court. Ball and player movement is Key to beating the Zone. MAKE THE ZONE WORK WITH PLAYER MOVEMENT TO "OPEN SPOTS IN THE ZONE, AND WITH QUICK ANGLE PASSING!!
