Talked to Keith Kizer of NV Commission. Cortez pointed to time keeper and said time in. Punches were legal, according to Kizer. #boxing

In 1904 joe walcott fought the dixie kid, walcott was dominating the fight, walcott scored a knockdown with a bodyshot and was moving in for the finish and out of the blue the ref DQed walcott in the 20th round, making the dixie kid the new champ, it was later discovered that the ref james sullivan I believe his name was, bet on the dixie kid, he was then stripped of the title and walcott contined as the champ. I have about 15 or 20 more stories of fights from the late 1800's and early 1900's in which fights were tainted by foul play, but I have no desire to write about them right now
