I agree my question is why are they fighting again, rematches are for classic fights or fight ending in dispute.
Tarver pretty much lost every single round and had nothing to offer... why is this fight even being shown? Poor decision for Dawson to fight a guy he beat already.
I can see why tarver would take it, still some money, and if he somehow wins, he takes Dawson's spot, Dawson gains NOTHING by winning, and loses all but everything with a loss. Oh wait a TRILOGY ? :)
If you must bet on this fight here are a few facts.. much of this public on boxrec.com and doing a bit more of research figured I'd humor this fight a bit..
Dawson has been down a few times in his career 3 times, Once by Thomasz Adamek, a Flash knock down by Eric harding in the first round, and someone named Shannon Miller back in the Day "Ruled a knock down in a 6 round fight"- This could be a trip but it was RULED a KNOCK DOWN.
Dawson in '04 tested positive post fight for weed and was suspended for 6 months.
Dawson earned $800,000 for the FIRST fight and Tarver earned $1 million.
Why doesn't Dawson Give Glen Johnson a Rematch, at least it would be worth watching!
I love Glen Johnson, gives 1000%, fights the best fighters, goes to their backyard and got robbed quite a few times, and a gentleman.
Tarver is undefeated in rematches, actually got beat handily by Eric Harding in the first fight, was also dropped in the 11th, rematch he won by KO.
You know the Roy Jones rematch was a KO.
And Well Glen Johnson I wouldn't say he won the rematch easy but he was given the W, hard to look good against Glen Johnson!
So Can he go and do the same against Dawson? Well I HOPE So, This is a horrible division and Dawson deserves to lose for fighting a guy a second time that he beat handily. Someone email me to remind me this fight is on.. LOL!
