Stangest Comment By A Referee

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Jimrex Jaca (11-25-06)&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Referee Laurence Cole, when taking Marquez to the ropes for a doctor&#x2019;s inspection in the eighth round, surprisingly told the fighter: &#x201C;You&#x2019;re ahead on points." I was like, DID HE JUST SAY THAT? The implication was that if Marquez wanted to pull out he would win by technical decision, the cut having been caused by a clash of heads in round five. Marquez was winning on all cards, but why would a referee say that? Did he have a bet on the under,  or Marquez, or was just that incompetent. Marquez most likely didn&#x27;t understand him at the time, but what if he did and decided to have the fight stopped, and the judges had Jaca ahead on points... oh boy!&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;The-Ionizer
