He sure did, but don't use the term "Italian American" you aren't black. When do you ever here "Irish American" or "Polish American?" You don't because it just sounds stupid.

Italian American is what he is and it is what I am.
 
We both come from the same neighborhood.
 
If you grew up here in New York, you too would hear the phrase just about every single day.

I grew up in New York, but I don't use the phrase 'Italian American'.  I use 'guido'.
