Diaz wins that fight with even a marginal cut man. They did nothing to help him between rounds, and it's a shame we didn't get to see a 2nd half to the fight like the first half.

Casamayor stated he thought Campbell's style and ability would defeat Diaz. I didn't bet the fight not knowing how well Campbell's condition would be late in the fight, but I had people who just wanted to bet to watch it, and I gave out Campbell at +400. The cut played a big factor. Nate “Galaxxy Warrior” Campbell was the harder more crisper puncher than Diaz early going. A headbutt caused the very first small caught that had no effect in the fight. It was a punch before the headbutt/lefthand when near clinched that caused the cut. I believe that the fight would have been closer, but it seemed Nate's early body work took the steam from Diaz. Diaz was relentless but not effective in slowing down Campbell during any point of the fight. Cut ot no cut, Campbell still wins that fight.

Through 6 rounds, Diaz had at least a 3 point lead on all the judge's cards. Campbell dominated the last 6 rounds after Diaz lost the ability to see through his left eye. Those are the facts. Juan Diaz is known for coming on late in his fights, and my belief is that would have been the case on Sat. night also. I had no play on this fight, and I know people who lost a little coin on Nate ITD, but the only point I was trying to make was that JD's corner did a disservice to him and to boxing fans by not getting that cut under control. I have to believe that in that environment, with those judges, Diaz gets a decision or at least a draw if they allow him to compete in ANY of the last 6 rounds. He just needed one of them to earn a draw on my card.

I agree that the cut played a huge role in him losing this fight. He could not see Campbell's right hand due to the blood flow and swelling. I agree if the cut doesn't happen you see a different result, but we will never know.
On a side note, that card from the Mexican judge was hilarious.
