Devon just didn't want anymore

The kid played the out card without looking like he quit.

 

He didn't even get hit on the right eye at the end.

Bradley is just the more advanced fighter right now.

I agree he complained about the wrong eye,every time the ring doctor said open your eyes he opened them WIDE open and then yelled they burned.

He then lied on the interview and said the ring doctor said it was in a bad spot, there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with the right eye and the left was fine (fighting wise).

He was looking for a way out, take a took at Bradley he had two head butts also, top of his eye and his lower cheek.

Devon got out boxed out classed from round one, and the body shots he truly didn't like.

Cannot wait to see Bradley against Khan and then Pacman or Floyd.

Two fights in a row Alexander has been exposed. I also question Alexanders Stamina I don't remember the round but his corner said "you need another breather, you tired take another breather".

That tells you he couldn't take the PACE and aggression of Bradley.

Sad to see a fight end with a guy using a head butt as an excuse, guess it's better than being knocked out.

                                     

Absolutely agree with this thread.  Devon was getting roughed up, and just decided he'd had enough.  Bradley was not out-punching him, but just generally beating him up (headbutts, forearms, leaning on his neck in clinches, etc). 

Devon is a fucking bitch ass box person. Yeah I said it. I'd fucking fight him no shit, after watching his last two fights, he is nothing but a box.

Danno I think you made an excellent point in a previous thread that certain fighters cannot take being roughed up (like Juan Diaz) and they crumble, seems like Devon has the same mentality.


I do think Devon was getting pounded with more than just forearms and head butts... Bradley is a pit bull he landed some excellent body punches early and had Alexander backing up and moving to his right the whole time (Big NO NO).

Devon looks like he still thinks he's in the amateurs tap tap and land maybe a left and then hold, his style is NOT pleasing like Pac-man, Khan, Bradley.

                                        

I agree with everything you said Rich.  I thought Bradley was clearly winning the fight, and definitely landing some right hands and good body shots.  My point was that it was an accumulation of everything that made Devon look for a way out.  Remember when Hatton beat Tszyu?  He was out punching him, but also just beating him up any way he could, and Tszyu quit on his stool.  That's kind of how this was. 

Devon was fighting like an amateur a bit, I believe.  His punches had nothing on them.  He was flicking them out there with no real intent on most of them.  He's skilled, but at some point, you just have to fight against the best fighters.

I can't believe how everyone is selling Bradley short though.  He's a little beast.  I really believe he would give anyone in the world trouble.  He's just a tough, skilled fighter who knows all the tricks and gets right up in your body and makes you go through hell.  People think Khan is super-tough because of what he went through with Maidana, but Maidana is not a very skilled boxer.  He hits like a truck, but he is easily outboxed.  That is not the case with Bradley. 

And to think all I kept reading about on this board was a Devon KO and this great punching power that somehow was better than Luis Abregu's?

Another big talker on a keyboard.  Hilarious.  Agree about Bradley 100% with the other posters.  He has the intangibles that make him extremely difficult for anybody.

Bradley has more than intangibles. He has great technique (with the exception of his slappy hook). His "bum rushes" are educated and his overall game is pretty solid.

And then you combine the intangibles and you've got yourself a little monster. If Bradley ever fights Khan I'm staying completley away from that fight as a gambler as I can see any outcome happenning. Of course, I'll love it as a fan.

Rich/Danno I agree with everything you said. In the end I didn't play. I was wrong when I thought Alexander was the more polished boxer. The reason I didn't bet was because I saw the weigh in and realised just how mentally tough Tim Bradley is. That and his big fight experience told in the end.

Amir Khan felt Devon quit and that he never would in the same circumstance. Now when they fight that is another no play. Khan I know is the better boxer but how can you bet against a little pit bull like Bradley with all the heart in the world? Bradley is a good boxer not great. At some stage (even with his determination and heart) he will be outclassed. Is Khan the guy to do it? Potentially. But if Bradley fights a Mayweather or Pacman he literally gets torn apart for 12 rounds..

No back to the tennis. If Djoko doesn't win I may have to start looking for a new job!
