calling mack05 and other great boixing handicappers

hello everyone. There is some boxing just 50 miles south of me in San Antonio today and I would like to put some action on this. What do yall think. I here bad things about Duddy but I want to hear some opinions from everyone.

I think Chavez wins easily.  At this point, Duddy is what he is.  He's 31 and I don't see him improving any more.  He's slow, and not very powerful (despite his decent KO percentage).  Although JCC Jr has more fights, he's a lot younger and I expect him to get better.  He's working with Roach, which can't hurt, and I think he'll  put a pretty good beating on Duddy tonight.  He's a good body puncher and Duddy is very easy to hit.  I'm not sure what I'm betting tonight (if anything), but Chavez ITD at +170 looks pretty good to me.  I think Chavez can beat him up and stop him, but Duddy is a bleeder too, so a cut isn't out of the question. 

 

I'll have my plays a little later, after I look at some other things.

I agree with Danno with Duddy what you've seen is what you will get even if they are trying to "Make him a boxer". He cannot ever be a boxer.

Now Chavez Jr is no world beater but he is a level ahead of Duddy he has better boxing skills. Adding Freddie Roach cannot make him any worse than he was, yes his stamina is in question but Duddy isn't a guy to make you work that much.

Also realize where this fight is being held, much talk about Chavez Jr fighting Miguel Cotto if he wins this fight.

I rate John Duddy a C+ fighter and Chavez Jr a B-  fighter.

Neither guy will ever beat a prime A level fighter.

Have to give the nod to the much younger Mexican fighter.

As Danno also pointed out Duddy is a bleeder...

A KO/TKO is a winner.. only way I see this losing is if Duddy gets cut and it's stopped too early for Chavez to rack up the points.

Hope this helps, personally this is not a fight to lay any large amount on, two fighters who can never beat A Level competition should NOT be a PPV headliner.

I'm risking 3 units tonight across five different plays (2 parlays and 3 straight bets):

 

- Chavez ITD (+170) risking 1 to win 1.7

- De Jesus/Barrera goes distance (+165) risking .8 to win 1.32

- De Jesus (+485) risking .4 to win 1.94

- De Jesus/Barrera goes distance (+165) + Chavez ITD (+170) risking .4 to win about 2.46

- De Jesus points handicap +24.5 (+240) + Chavez ITD (+170) risking .4 to win about 3.27

 

I stated my case for Chavez before.  As far as the Barrera/De Jesus fight, two older guys fighting at career high weights.  I think this might be a boring, grind it out fight that goes the distance. 

Nope the lines themselves seem fine, only one that looks a bit off is Barrera/De Jesus being kind of low on the rounds.

 Over 5.5  for two older guys seems as if the fight would last a bit longer unless De Jesus is there only to be KO'd but  Chavez seems like the right line, the over seems right too only thing that bothers me is Duddy is a bleeder so makes the over a no play (for myself).

Chris Cyborg from strike force on showtime tonight might be a better view too bad she's -1500 maybe in a parlay.

So again the over in the Barrera fight seems to be the only  thing off a bit.

Gold, I would follow Danno/Rich over me here. I really don't have any huge feeling on this fight. If I were playing (I would play small on Chavez points victory). For all Duddy's faults he has got a big heart and neither guy has a huge punch. The problem with the over is that Chavez could easily outbox Duddy and either 1) Cuts cause the fight to stop as Duddy cuts badly or 2) Duddy's corner pull him.

I think Duddy knows this is his last shot and I expect him to show a lot of bravery and go out on hs shield.

I think maybe Chavez @ +120 to win on points and/or

Chavez to win between rounds 10-12 @ +600...
