This may not be directly boxing related, giving a heads up to people who have BODOG accounts, get it out if you can, they are about to burst.

This all started in 2007 and now many players are receiving fake checks, and now not getting paid.

I hope no one is using them, I suggested thegreek,5dimes and other reputable companies.

Yes I agree Betjamaica the sister site of thegreek.. so it's a good site, like the others mentioned here.

Oddly covers.com STILL lets them advertise, and have them as a top sportsbook ... meanwhile people here on covers forums.. are all over bodog .. also their blackjack site is a 100 % scam which has been busted, you can even google it "bodog blackjack scam".

Here is a link to the forum, on covers that people mention bodog, this started in '07 and people are posting today they still cannot get money.

    https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=9&sub=100126745&t=0

Here's a YOUube video telling you bodog is stopping payments

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITewWhwsYi0

Here is another one on covers, countless people who took MONTHS to get paid or never got paid.

    https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=12&sub=100506947

Therx.com REMOVED them as a sponsor.  I suggest if you want to get your money, contact someone at therex they try to get your money for you.

I can ONLY say bet with the ones people know are rock solid, thegreek, 5dimes, betjamaica.. sure there are many others.

Please stay away from bodog, and wager with a real company.

    Good luck!,

I agree, I just hope maybe someone who doesn't know how bad they are, and how corrupt will remove their money while they CAN.

We have reliable books, no reason for anyone to be subjected to a company like that.

    Jets won :)

I don't deal with them cause their lines are tough. But I have in the past and always got paid. This is a surprise since alot of sites are still touting them.

First I heard of this ,  numerous fast payouts received this year, they have been getting stronger after some challenges with the Fed/US Gov.           I don't think you know what your talking about... t

Rx REMOVED them as advertisers. Remember covers and every other place gets PAID BIG BUCKS to allow them to advertise.

The only reason they can make payour right now is because they scammed million of dollars from the blackjack gig they did, where you couldn't win, (game was rigged) google it.. tons and tons of information and documentation about it.

They were 24 million in the hole last year, now can make payouts due to the blackjack scam.

Thankfully we have reputable books. I was advising people to get their money OUT while they can.

A book that stiffed people in the past, will still people in the future.

Betjamaica., 5dimes, and thegreek among other sportbooks have NEVER stiffed the players.

What is the story behind Bodog these days?

From what I used to hear, Bodog was set up by Calvin Ayres, a rich rogue playboy operator who set up in a tax haven Island guarded by South African mercenaries.

He ignored the U.S. tax laws and they pursued him for money legally but never actually went to get him in person.

    https://www.gambling911.com/gambling-news/bodog%E2%80%99s-fall-grace-continues-102308.html

There has been forum rumor of this for a while,
but I can't find any news directly concerning bodog going under.

    Can anyone elaborate?

It is hard to imagine these guys going broke, I mean, how often do you find a poor bookie?

    And yet it does happen.
Does anyone remember "Lasseters" of Australia?
They went broke but details of that are sketchy.
How does a bookie go broke?

If you're serious about wagering on boxing, you have no business playing at Bodog.  Terrible odds, no parlays, low limits, etc.

I've have used bodog for a while to bet on MMA and boxing but recently my limits got cut so low that I decided to take out my money few days ago . I am in Europe and I get redirected to their .com.uk site which never has any odds avalaible on MMA . I've tried to access their site with an american proxy and odds there but not for european version .
Also limits are like $20 - $ 60 on everything now and their odds suck .
However I did not have any problem to move my money out via NETeller , received my money in around 10 hours .

I'm not disgruntled,  you post a LINK to sportsbook review, who STOOD by and denied Bodog was stiffing people the past 2 years.

Bodog WAS in the hole for 24 million last summer. Their Blackjack scam got them out of the hole.

It's why I said for people to take their money OUT, they started paying again and this is a perfect time to cash out and move on.

Sportsbookreview is the most suspect place ever, the RX is legit.

No one can DENY Bodog a) Ran the Blackjack scam
    B) For 2 years they stiffed players, and did extremely slow payouts.

Yes they may be back "now", once a scammer always a scammer! I consider it a gift that players can withdraw their money again. Bodog is trying hard to gain confidence back from it's players.

Winning a bet is hard enough, worrying if a BOOK is going to screw you or do a slow payout is NOT something someone who bets should ever worry about. It's a bit too late for Bodog to kissup to the public after they became so big they screwed people.

Merely CRUISE all the boards, you will see everyone calling them "Blow Dog"  not Bodog..

There is NO second chances in the gambling industry, maybe newcomers who DON'T know their past might find them appealing, but for 2 years plus the blackjack scam... they TOOK money but didn't pay out, and blamed it on the FEDS. and DOJ.

Guess what if you are having problems, STOP taking people's money, if you cannot pay out you don't taking wagers!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITewWhwsYi0

Yes they seized 24 million from Bodog, as you see in the video, Calvin as stated in Forbes a BILLIONAIRE 2 times over, yet 24 million dollars stops payouts?

Who would deal with anyone who didn't pay taxes. Why do you never hear bad news from the other good sportbooks.. you don't go on the cover of Forbes magazine when you are taking illegal bets lol!

You stay LOW and run your operation like the others do, play with fire you will get burned.

    Cash out while you can.-

Good luck to my friends :)

I don't want to get involved in a pissing contest, but I have made multiple withdrawals from Bodog over the last two years without any problems. Granted their lines are rather poor but they offer some interesting options and are just one of many books I use (10 total).
I take issue though with your RX comment, they are without a doubt one of the most dubious and duplicitous sites on the web. Not only would I walk away from them, I would run. SBR might not be clean, but comparing them negatively to RX is a grave defamation.

I agree this thread should be closed down now. I only made it to help out the fellow boxers here. (The Regulars) just in case they had cash in there.

Good thing everyone here uses a great book. I was only looking out for fellow bettors. Didn't think bodog lovers would come in here and defend them tooth and nail especially when the information is public.

I also made this thread when there was NO boxing talk, (no upcoming fights) SO I agree Close this thread.

If you like bodog stay there, but let's close this thread.

We now have major boxing fights coming up, so no need to reply anymore.

    -End Thread.

A book that stiffed people in the past, will still people in the future.

Betjamaica., 5dimes, and thegreek among other sportbooks have NEVER stiffed the players.

Blackjack scam? This is not true.  Calvin Ayre, the Bodog Brand founder, and all of the current Bodog licensees have not been involved in a scam or charged with a criminal offense.  Where are you getting this information from?

Also, Bodog.com has not missed a payout in the 15 years it has been in business.  If you think differently, please send me specifics via PM or this thread and I will ask the Bodog.com to provide facts in response.

    Thanks,

BodogBrand.com and the Bodog Brand licensees (Bodog.com, Bodog.co.uk and Bodog.ca, Bodog88.com, Bodog Network) are not going under.  In fact, things are going quite well in Bodog world at the moment.

To clear some things up and to provide facts:

1)Calvin Ayre is the founder of the Bodog brand and sold the Bodog.com operation to MMGG in 2006, right around the same time that the other public igaming companies left the US market.  Calvin has never been charged with a criminal offense.

2)Calvin Ayre retained an interest in BodogBrand.com, the Antiguan based licensing company of the Bodog Brand- think of it as a franchise model, similar to Richard Branson and the Virgin brand.  For more information on Calvin's role, please have a look at an article I wrote about Calvin several months ago.

3)There are 4 Bodog Brand licensees, MMGG which owns and operates the US facing Bodog.com, Bodog Europe which owns and operates the UK facing Bodog.co.uk and Canadian facing Bodog.ca, Haydock Entertainment which owns and operates the Asian facing Bodog88.com and Bodog Network which owns and operates the Bodog Poker client and network.

4)Calvin now resides in Antigua and is working on several media projects, one being CalvinAyre.com, an igaming industry news,  information, and lifestyle "tablog" which will be launching in a few days (I am the head on-site reporter for this site, FYI)

5)Bodog.com has been in business for 15 years and has never missed a payout.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me!

    Thanks,
    Becky
