Adamek/Arreola,Julio/Angulo

I keep scratching my head at why Julio is such a big underdog. Ok, so the fight is in California. Angulo is the promoted fighter on the card. But really?

Julio was as highly touted as Angulo a couple of years ago. He lost a UD to Carlos Quintana at 147, then struggled against lightly regarded Cosme Rivera and won a SD. He blamed those performances on weight and moved up. He was 21 years old at the time.

He then wins 6 straight, including wins over K-9 Bundrage and Ishe Smith. He lost a UD to Dzinziruk in Germany... then the Kirkland masacre. What people seem to forget is that Kirkland would be OWNING this division if he didn't get sent to prison ala Plaxico.

Angulo is a solid fighter. Good pop, applies pressure, good body puncher, etc. However, he is quite slow. He throws crisp shots so it usually isn't a problem against the likes of Harry Joe Yorgy. Against a very talented young fighter like Julio it might be. I know exactly what Angulo's camp was thinking.... pressure him like Kirkland and you'll break him. Angulo isn't Kirkland. I feel they made a VERY big mistake putting him in against a fighter like Julio.

Julio has equal pop, younger, more experience and a moderate hand speed advantage. He might get robbed if it goes the distance, if not, I think he'll get it done.

Angulo wins decision, +330, 1 unit to win 3.3 units

I see Arreola having a lot of trouble finding Adamek early in this fight. Adamek should be able to bank some rounds, then it gets interesting. If Arreola does find Adamek, but not often, how will it be scored? Can Adamek hurt Arreola? So many questions, so little answers.

I do know that Adamek should be get through the first half of the fight. I don't know if Arreola will have the talent or gas to stop a vet like Adamek late in a fight after he is hunting all night.

Angulo&#x27;s head is a little messed up here, and I&#x27;m not sure how it will affect him.  He&#x27;s in a promotional dispute with Gary Shaw, and yesterday he showed up 90 minutes late to the weigh in, as a mini-protest.  He got fined $15000, all of which will go to Julio.  From what I read, Angulo is very pissed, so will he go nuts on Julio, or will it affect him adversely and cause a sub-par performance?  Tough fight for me to pick.

&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;When I first saw this line, I really wanted to bet Julio, because as you said, Angulo is SO SLOW.  I&#x27;m tentative, because Julio manages to come up short in all his big fights.  The more I think about it though, the more Julio is probably worth a small play.  Angulo is very easy to hit, and as long as Julio doesn&#x27;t get overwhelmed by his pressure (as you said though, NOT the same as Kirkland), he might be able to land a ton of punches on Angulo and win the fight convincingly.

Julio is a 4-1 dog for a reason. He isnt that good. He has decent power.....and thats about it. Angulo should handle him rather easily. Maybe inside 8 or 9.. And I like Julio.. Is a punchers chance worth a small play? Sure.. But Angulo has that Margarito chin thing goin for him. If Cintron couldnt make him budge, who hits harder than Julio I dont think Julio will

I can&#x27;t see Angulo at this point in his career a 5-1 to 6-1 favorite over anyone yet alone someone who is a decent fighter.Julio has good hand speed and a 3 inch reach advantage. Remember Cintron gave Angulo trouble with speed.. Julio is no Cintron but I see this as a very good fight to watch and Julio is worth a SMALL play... Only thing that would worry me is the world knows what Angulo brings, so doubt his camp would throw him in with someone who would give him a tough time unless they are idiots, then again they did put him in with Cintron (and Cintron was a 3-1 under dog).Angulo is so one dimensional it&#x27;s not even funny.. he may get the KO but he&#x27;s headed no where fast!Good luck to everyone regardless of their play!

Man, I was thinking the same thing when I read about the 15k.Normally, I was kinda thinking Angulo. Strong possibility of a late stoppage. With recent news, I wouldn&#x27;t be surprised to see it happen early. His other affairs could go screw him up tonight though. No play.I&#x27;ve seen quite a bit from Julio and he&#x27;s been taking big risks that aren&#x27;t paying off. This could be another one, especially being on Angulo&#x27;s home turf. Julio needs to be in his best tonight.
