For the next couple days, the Meadowlands Exposition Center will be the center of the universe for the sports betting industry. The Betting on Sports America Conference takes place Wednesday and Thursday, and among those on hand will be pretty much everyone who’s anyone in the sports betting space.

That includes more than 1,500 senior executives and 175 expert speakers, spread across full-day conference tracks that include 40 sessions. And of course, there are 60 exhibitors, with booths showing off their latest products and services. It’s the largest sports betting trade show in the United States.

So of course, Covers is on the scene, not only as a sponsor of the event, and not only with a booth where you can check out all things Covers.com. But also in the speaking space, as Senior Industry Analyst Jason Logan and Senior Writer Patrick Everson will moderate panels during the Thursday session.

At 11:20 a.m., Everson will oversee Whatever Happens in Vegas – Should Stay in Vegas? This panel will delve into how the Nevada sportsbook model could – and arguably should – be replicated in other states coming on board with legal, regulated sports betting. But it will also look at what Nevada can perhaps utilize from other state models, foremost among them being New Jersey. Panelists are Vic Salerno, president of USBookmaking and USFantasySports; Art Manteris, vice president of race and sportsbook operations for Station Casinos; Vinny Magliulo, vice president of corporate relations for Las Vegas Dissemination Company; and Rob Bone, president of Amelco USA.

Immediately following that panel, Logan will moderate Basketball: Powering Forward With Betting. Although the NFL is the undisputed king of American sports betting, basketball has the largest international appeal and reach. Further, the NBA was the first major American pro sports league to soften its stance on sports betting. This panel will discuss how the sport and bookmakers can work together to develop mutually beneficial approaches on marketing, product and partnerships. Panelists are Scott Kaufman-Ross, head of fantasy and gaming for the NBA; Christopher Dougan, chief communications for Genius Sports Group; David Lampitt, managing director of group operations for Sportradar; and Chad Millman, chief content officer for The Action Network.

In addition, there are keynote addresses Wedneday and Thursday, including from New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy sharing his state’s vision for sports betting on Wednesday; and Thursday’s opening keynote, with former NFL place-kicker Morten Andersen discussing the league’s influence on fans and its unrivaled ability to engage its audience.

In addition, there are myriad more panel sessions discussing every imaginable aspect of sports betting expansion in the United States. If you’re into sports betting, Betting on Sports America is the place to be this week.
