A Saturday in the fall is when Rob’s at his happiest, on a couch for 12 straight hours (even longer if Hawaii has a local kick) watching college football. While college football is his first love, any form of football will do the trick and when it’s not in season, college basketball, the NBA, and MLB fill the void.

Weeknights in November mean #MACtion football, and anything can happen in the MAC. After Central Michigan takes a 14-0 lead over Western Michigan in 2020, I’m convinced I’m a fool for taking the Broncos moneyline. They then score 38 straight points to give me a false sense of security. It was a back and forth scoring affair in the second half with CMU cutting the lead to eight with two minutes to go. I’ve never been more sure a team would recover the onside kick... they didn’t, WMU won, and my slip cashed.

I fancy myself an NFL draftnik, but boy I couldn’t have been sillier thinking the NFL’s addiction to quarterbacks would ensure that Over 1.5 would go in 2022. Pretty much every year at least two quarterbacks go in the first round, even Christian Ponder and Jake Locker did! So, knowing my Pittsburgh Steelers would take one, I was convinced someone would bite the bullet and take another. When the Vikings were on the clock with the 32nd pick, I knew it had to be happening… I started celebrating. Then Roger Goodell announced Georgia safety Lewis Cine and my heart dropped.
